NOSSO Summer Club Marbella — Restaurant in Marbella

When we arrived at Nosso, we were really impressed, we loved the ambiance and the vibe, but by the time we left we felt totally ripped off and felt like we were taken advantage of!

We had pre-booked one of the chill areas for €250 for the day for a hen party and when we arrived Enrique (the manager) told us this was our area which had 4 sun beds, then Enrique apologised and said that he had double booked 2 of the sun beds which we were totally fine with.

We ordered some bread and olives for the table, we were then brought out loads of different dishes including sushi dishes, prawns and some others, they were delicious but we didn’t order them and thought it was quite presumptuous and cheeky but we ate the food and continued having a great day! We were then brought out shots which we thought were complementary as we didn’t order them but were charged for!!

The service is rubbish, you have to keep trying to get the staffs attention which is annoying when you’ve spent €250 for an area and they don’t come over to see if we needed anything!

After a fab day we then got the bill which included a €100 charge for 2 sun beds which we didn’t ask for but we were made to think it was included in our chill area! We were also charged for water which should be included in the price for the chill area, we tried to query the water cost and sun bed cost and were pretty much met with aggression and bullying attitude from one of the waiters who would not listen to us and just kept shouting, Enrique had gone for the day so we couldn’t talk to him so we agreed to pay for everything that we had eaten and drunk but we refused to pay for the sun beds or water, we were then threatened with the police being called and it was a really bad end to a really good day! Nosso: POSITIVE: The comfortable sunbeds The location The quality of the beach The food: sushi was tasty

NEGATIVE: The service at the beach: we waited a long time in the sun with our maks before getting our sunbeds baring in mind i had already booked it. It was hard to call the waiter as he was in charge of the whole beach and the order took a long time to arrive for every one as i saw other customers complaining. The service at the restaurant: we arrive at the restaurant for lunch as we booked a table and the hostess wants to give us a high table with stools glued to a normal height table where people were eating: when you book a table in advance you don’t give them a “bar” table especially if when you sit, the person’s head at the other table is literally next to your thighs. Where is the social distancing? After i refused that table we got a normal table as couple of them were free! Once again the service was really bad, we had to chase the waiters the whole lunch time and to top it all off, they forgot to order our main courses (poke)! No apology, nothing. The food: it was good however the poke bowl was a joke: looked like a starter, very little salmon and they put a lot of “decoration” to fill up the bowl The price: the price point is too high for the lack of quality: 18€ for a small poke bowl is ridiculous, at celicioso its 15€ and the bowl is twice the size. I don’t know if i would go back as the level of service doesn’t go with the image the beach is portraying. They don’t make you feel special, unless you are a table of 10 people. Most of the food & drink is great (especially majority of the sushi), but some is average, e.g. iced lattes.

Service from the beach staff is excellent and 5 stars; but staff at the entrance of Nosso are very frosty and stay sitting down when you enter, so it’s not clear they even work there. Come across as very intimidating and offhand.

Loved this place when it used to be South Beach and also loved the first few years of Nosso, but now all the beach beds are pretty much on the beach, rather than higher up, with the ‘lounge’ area now taking up all of the best spaces on the premises. Beds now don’t feel as special and now feel expensive for what you get.

There are also loads of kids & very loud, bass heavy music, so it feels like they’re trying to mix 2 different kinds of venue that don’t marry up. The little details that made this place great seemed to have gone downhill, like big fluffy white towels have been replaced by small cheaper towels; the previous security in the roped area so you could relax in the sea has gone; the beds are much closer together now; the umbrellas now don’t provide full shade; etc.

Still a nice day out and would recommend it if you know what you’re going to get; but we used to love the chilled out, great value vibe of Nosso, with impeccable food, service & decor. It now feels like it’s lost its way a little bit and it trying to become more like lots of other places...
