Restaurante El Cortijo de Ramiro — Restaurant in Marbella

Fantastic experience. It’s expensive but you come away feeling that you’ve had value for money. The best bit was the live music, Tomas plays the acoustic guitar and sings, not just Spanish, also interpretations of pops songs of the past. Then the manager Ramiro came “on stage” with his guitar and they did duets including early Simon & Garfunkel. It probably suits an older audience better, but there’s no reason why younger folk wouldn’t enjoy the atmosphere as well. Bravo!

P.S. I should have said more about the food and service, it being a restaurant rather than a music venue! It was the best Beef Wellington I ever tasted (amazing piece of beef), served by the most hospitable people, they made us feel very welcome (especially Yaismel 🤗🤗). We were staying in the Hotel Guadalmina around the corner. We only went to this restaurant because it was out last nigh and we'd handed back the hire car. We walked in and thought 'oh...' as we saw an empty restaurant (it was relatively early by Spanish standards). We were led through to the outdoor area where, thankfully, there were other diners.

The restaurant has a good sized outdoor area. It's pleasantly laid out with shrubs, trees and plants. Even what could have looked a bit tacky, the laser 'stars' looked quite pretty!

The food was wonderful. Very well presented, good sized portions and everything was quite clearly fresh (ie not frozen seafood, etc) and made to order.

The waiting staff were attentive and even gave us a little drink and a chocolate brownie at the end of the meal.

We found this restaurant by chance, checked out the reviews and booked. We recently bought an apartment nearby so are keen to support local businesses and what a find this one was! From the moment you are greeted and seated, you feel like you are genuinely welcomed. This is a family business and you can tell! We were welcomed by the owner, his wife is the chef, his daughter runs front of house and her cousins etc are among the waiting staff.
