South Cafe- Specialty coffee — Restaurant in Marbella

I have been coming here and bringing people here for years, I love the Wild Salad and they sub the salmon with tofu for me because I am vegan. I like the Twix, and I love the tofu and avocado topping for the avocado toast, but I have to say this - the last few times the gluten free bread has made me feel very bad and ruined the next 24 hours. Its dense, soggy, and I can taste and feel the insane amount of flaxseed. I have been vegan for 8 years and can handle a lot of fiber, but after eating just one and a half of the two pieces of toast I felt bloated, gassy, and wasn’t able to sleep well from the extreme discomfort. The next morning, well, let’s just say my toilet and I spent some quality time together. I understand wanting to be a healthy eatery, but you can find a balance with health, taste and physical comfort. When I go out to eat I want to enjoy myself, and the side effects isn’t worth the bland, salt-lacking taste of this bread, nor the texture, especially for the price. I hope they start buying something like the sliced sandwich bread from Leon the Baker instead. Its fluffy, nice chew, crispy edges when toasted, healthy buckwheat flour, salty and delicious, it can be frozen and toasted slice by slice for easy serving for us few gluten free peeps, and its easy on...

The food here is generally good but a bit hit and miss depending what you order, with healthy Juices, nice Açai bowls, and some staff are really friendly as we come here often.

HOWEVER this morning after waiting half an hour for our smoothie bowls to show up and a very disappointing toast with little tomato, we ordered tea and coffee so it would arrive with the food and still be warm. This took another 10minutes to come with the two girls just chatting behind the counter and after going up to get the tea myself they had a terrible attitude, and when the coffee finally came one waitress, who I have not seen there before, said "4 minutes" with a smirk, and rather than apologising argued about how long it took, VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL.

Then when going up to pay the bill the other girl had a terrible attitude and said not a word when paying or leaving, no thank you or good bye.

An unpleasant experience and we will no longer be...

Hemos ido a desayunar, ya que tenía bastantes buenas reseñas. Pedimos dos cafés con leche XL… tardan mucho en servirlo, llega templado y al probarlo…. Sabe a leche cortada. Amablemente se lo indicamos a la camarera que nos atendía (era muy agradable) y se sorprende y nos dice.. “¿estáis acostumbradas a tomar café de especialidad?”… No es solo que tomemos café de especialidad sino que también lo compramos y lo hacemos en casa y a “este café sabe mal como si la leche estuviera cortada o agria”.. No sé qué café de especialidad están ellos acostumbrados a hacer… los que nosotras tomamos están más buenos que los de supermercado o cafetería normal, como es obvio. Le digo que entonces me ponga un zumo, por favor, porque ese café no me lo voy a tomar. Tiempo más tarde vuelve la camarera y nos explica que lo ha comentado con la jefa y que ha mirado la fecha de la leche y que está bien asique… “me has pedido un zumo pero igualmente te tenemos que cobrar los cafés” (nisiquiera habían preparado el zumo.. Nos trae la comida que habíamos pedido que estaba todo rico (a pesar de ser carito). Tras acabar la comida.. llega el zumo asique el zumo fue de postre y no de acompañamiento… La verdad que había ido con muchas expectativas y me ha parecido un trato a los clientes regular (no por parte de la camarera, que se disculpó), un tiempo de espera alto y precio elevado (lo cual con un buen servicio y productos no habría problema con ello).

Además en la mesa de al lado había una señora que había pedido un café que le manifiesta a la camarera que está frío y fuerte. En lugar de ofrecerle otro café y quedar bien.. le dice que le trae agua caliente. Al tiempo la señora le dice que hace rato está esperando y ya después de mucha espera.. le traen agua caliente….

Ahora revisando comentarios.. he visto que han pasado esto en otras ocasiones (al menos que hayan dejado constancia en reseñas).

La verdad que quedar mal de cara al cliente por un triste café, qué pena. Nadie que pida un café lo va a querer dejar entero por gusto. Y menos aún un par de cafés de 8,80€ en total… y coincidiendo dos personas en la misma opinión de que sabe mal. Me pedí a cambio un zumo de 7€ (está claro que el problema no era el dinero).
