A Culinary Sanctuary in Elviria – Zumaque Restaurant
Tucked discreetly within the tranquil residential enclave of Elviria—far from the cacophony and clichés of the coastal tourist trail—Zumaque emerges as an exceptional gastronomic discovery. This unassuming yet elegant establishment is a true culinary refuge, where authenticity, refinement, and heartfelt hospitality converge seamlessly.
From the moment one steps inside, the graciousness of the proprietors sets the tone for what proves to be a remarkably elevated dining experience. In a region where service often falls short of expectation, Zumaque distinguishes itself through its thoughtful attentiveness and an unmistakable passion for excellence.
On a recent visit, I was reminded of the restaurant’s quiet mastery. Particular standouts included the exquisitely tender tuna steak, the beautifully balanced tuna tartar, and the ethereal ajo blanco—a modern homage to Andalusian tradition that lingers on the palate long after the final spoonful.
The recently unveiled bodega is a jewel in its own right—curated with discernment, it perfectly complements the sophistication of the menu, offering pairings that are both inspired and impeccably balanced.
For those seeking a dining experience that transcends the ordinary, Zumaque is not merely recommended—it is essential. A rare and refined gem that raises the bar for haute cuisine...

The food was spectacular, I was so impressed. You can tell this restaurant values attention to detail and enthusiasm for the food. They even have their own olive oil. The love for the ingredients shines through their dishes.
There are some places that leave an impression long after you leave and Zumaque will definitely hold fond memories for me.
There is a tasting menu, as well as, a la carte. We decided to order a la carte and every dish was a chef’s kiss. My favourite was the shrimp starter - shrimp tartar, mashed shrimp heads and caviar. I will be thinking about this dish for a long time to come.
Service was excellent. Attention to detail makes the meaning of fine dining and I was very impressed and happy. This place is elegant without feeling snooty. We felt so cozy and comfortable.
I would highly recommend trying this place if you are...

When we arrived we were welcomed by the owner and we received a warm welcome, followed by him showing us to our nicely presented table. He took his time to explain the items on the menu to us with the dishes we didn’t know, followed by taking our order.
