Pizzería Atenas — Restaurant in Melide

My mate and I went here for dinner while on the Camino. We went up to the bar to order, but no one was there. We waited outside for a while until eventually someone realised and came out to give us a couple of menus. We ordered and proceeded to wait what felt like well over half an hour, listening to the weird radio they had blaring out Metallica and whatnot, delightful. Eventually our food came out, bit burnt round the edges and missing red peppers. All in all...

Disappointing experience. The only good thing I can say about it - they use good cheese in there. The dough looks like it was frozen and from the supermarket, the sauce seems to be a regular cheap ketchup. The waiting time is 15-20 min which is way too long for the pizza place without clients. If they change the dough and sauce it might be an acceptable place to visit. But unfortunately it is not the one...

My husband and I have stopped at Pizzeria Atenas every year, except 2020, since 2014 while walking the Camino. We have enjoyed the delicious pizzas, atmosphere and customer service each and every visit. We recommend it wholeheartedly to other pilgrims, especially once seeking an option...
