Where to start....
We arrived at a busy time of the evening and spotted 3 people outside on the pavement with a dog, they didn't seem to be queuing so we looked inside both old and new locals and saw a number of available tables so we proceeded to walk in and try and grab someone's attention. We spoke to 3 male waiters who said, someone will be with you in a minute, not one smile, good evening or attempt to be helpful. A young lady came along and the first words to come out of her mouth were "next time wait outside until someone comes to speak to you". With a huff she proceeded to take us inside to a table, pointed at it and then walked away. A sign outside informing customers to "Please wait to be seated" might be a good idea!
Having worked in the catering industry for over 25 years, it's very clear that the staff are not only unhappy, but inexperienced. Too many people walking round putting out fires when they should be organised and making sure there are no fires to put out. When showing people to a table, set it, take the drinks order and let the runners do their job.
The lack of organisation is just one of the stones in their shoe, we were told at 22:00 that we had to order before 23:00 as the kitchen closes, we normally don't take an hour to decide but it was a clear message that we wouldn't get to order quickly. 20+ minutes after getting our drinks we actually had to stop someone and ask if we could order. Zero communication between staff as 5 minutes after we ordered, someone came to take the order, nice ear pieces but is anyone actually talking to them and telling them what is really happening.
The food came quite quickly after ordering and disappointed Is one word I guess, sweet fries soggy and even seemed re-heated, my burger was doused in sauce which just dripped out as well as the oil which had obviously not been drained off first. I had the same burger the first time round and no comparison.
There are some very unhappy people working there and it seems that if you're not a friend of the staff then the smiles are saved on and so are the pleasantries. Such a great location for there to be such bad organisation and lacking staff. (New lighting in the new local is far too bright)
Staff training is needed urgently or new staff, it's that simple. We have eaten there before and the food was much better, I encourage the owners to spend a little time helping the staff understand that people go for dinner to places to have a nice welcoming experience, to be comfortable and to enjoy their food.
And I might add, we both speak fluent Spanish so there is no issue with being understood, it's a shame that if you're a "colega" you get all the handshakes and smiles but everyone else gets the stern and strong service approach which is nowhere near welcoming.
By all means try it out, it seems to be inconsistent with what you'll get and when, you might be one of the...
Read moreDespite giving them multiple chances, the service I received at Dak Burger has been nothing short of abysmal. The staff's consistently rude and negative attitude, coupled with average quality food, have failed to meet even the most basic expectations.
From the moment we walked through the door, it was evident that the staff at Dak Burger lacked professionalism and courtesy. Their rude demeanor and negative attitude were not only off-putting but also completely unacceptable. Instead of being treated as valued customers, we felt like an inconvenience to them.
In terms of food, the nachos and chicken fingers were fine, the onion strips were awful, as they came out excessively greasy, the burgers were a disappointment.
The food I can somewhat forgive, as you kind of know what you're signing up for at this type of place. However, considering the repeated instances of extremely rude and negative staff encounters, I cannot recommend Dak Burger to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience. With plenty of other dining options available in La Cala de Mijas, it would be wise to explore alternatives that prioritize customer service and culinary quality. Dak Burger has proven to be a disappointment, and I sincerely hope that the management takes these criticisms seriously and works towards improvements in their...
Read moreWe had yesterday February 2end at 6pm two vegetarian Mexican burgers. The taste was good. After short period of time within 1h we got stomach ache, cramps and got sick. These kind symptoms are caused by toxins from staphylococcus aureus. The bacteria itself is heat unstable and dies in high temperature, however toxins are heat stable and released in the gastrointestinal tract are very aggressive. The food is contaminated with dead bacterias and toxins are released during processing the food. Staph. toxins are very aggressive causing symptoms within short time after ingestion. You feel very sick in your body, cause they are absorbed in the small bowel entering blood circulatory system. Those toxins damage cellular membrane for instance red and white blood cells, causing hemolysis. Clinical symptoms depend of amount of toxins ingested- temporary symptoms 1-2 days- severe clinical condition needs hospital admission and treatment. It looks like vegetarian burgers are contaminated with dead staphylococcus aureus bacterias, however toxins from these bacteria are heat stable and not deactivated during processing the food in high temperature. I’m consultant surgeon, that’s why I’m making this comment. I hope owner will get ride of contaminated...
