Garden Bar — Restaurant in Mijas

A hidden gem near La Cala. This bar & restaurant in a magical location can be found just off the A7 going to La Cala. Turn off at Rocas del Mar and park. The entrance is through an urbanisation. There is a A-frame board showing you the way through the gate. 100 metres on your left you will see The Garden Bar. It has plenty of tables set in a wonderful location near the beach. You can also access from the boardwalk near La Cala or Calahonda. The menu choice is good ranging from sandwiches to a full meal. Reasonable priced considering you are nearly on the beach. This used to be our favourite restaurant in the area, but when wecwentvthiscyear tgecfoodcwas absolutely awful. It used to have fresh ingredients, actual homemade chips etc. This time it was all very poor quality frozen rubbish. Maybe new owners or chef? Even the kids couldn't eat the burgers. They were like the worst quality frozen burgers, both the beef and the chicken. We were so looking forward to our dinner there and itvwas so disappointing. Staff were still friendly and pleasant, view was still gorgeous, but food was really terrible. I will never go back to this place !!

I went this place with my husband and two friends, and we all ordered drinks. Everyone’s drinks came except mine. I spoke to the same waitress who took our order and repeated my request for an orange juice. She said she’d bring it, but 45 minutes went by and still no drink. I watched her go to other tables, checking if everyone was okay. I called her over again, and when she turned around, her expression completely changed. She was smiling at the other customers, but from a distance, she told me again that she’d bring it. But it never came.
