Muskoka Bistro — Restaurant in Mijas

Poor. Where to start? We got seated straight away as a family of four. However, we did take the last table available. After taking our drinks order, three of us got given our drinks almost straight away. However, one person in our party was waiting about 20 minutes before they told us they didn't have what she ordered therefore she ordered something else but they tried to charge us for the one they said they didn't have. This other drink did not come until after the food had come out. The wait for the food was okay, but everything looked nothing like it did on the menu. One person ordered a chicken sandwich, which, on the picture, the chicken was breaded, but when it came out, the chicken was just grilled. One of us ordered patatas bravas, which is supposed to be potatoes with a spicy tomato and vegetable sauce. We were brought potatoes with a spicy mayonnaise like sauce, which was far too spicy it was unbearable. One small drop burned my mouth off. Another meal, which was a savoury pancake, came with burnt bits on it, which were completely black, and they smelt horrible. To end, the service in this restaurant is horrendous. We were ignored by the only waiter, over and over again. When we had finished our meal, we put the cash on the table and one member of our party stood up. It was obvious we were ready to pay and leave. We were trying for over 20 minutes to try and get his attention by making eyecontact, waving at him, and even saying excuse me, but every time, he just walked past us to go stand and do nothing. Didn't eat here but someone needs to have a word with this staff member of the business is to survive. Planned to stop for a coffee, milk and a snack with my 2 year at about 11am, if he could get a seat. The place had about 2/10 tables outside taken. A waiter came out so I asked him if they had a high chair (in Spanish) to which he angrily replied "wait a minute" and stormed off around the corner. Curious as to what could be so urgent he can't answer this question I followed him, just to see he was busily cleaning one of the many empty tables. As I didn't see other waiters and this one seemed more interested in cleaning tables than looking after customers I concluded it's best to find somewhere else to go. From looking at the pictures on the menu I knew this place would be good. After exploring mijas going in and out of the shops and seeing the amazing views we became hungry and decided on sitting on Muskoka which is now a tapas and cafe bar not just burgers.

The pictures on the menu helped me decide what I wanted and they definitely did deliver. The food was fresh, warm and was a good portion. I had the chicken flatbread on Málaga bread and was delicious. Would return and have again
