Restaurante La Alcazaba De Mijas — Restaurant in Mijas

I went there last night, I ordered a rib eye steak and asked for medium rare. Before giving us the food we ordered they brought out a really stale and dry bread that no one asked for and later charged us for it. When the steak finally came it was grey and cooked all the way through not medium rare like I asked for, I tried pointing it out to the waiter but he just looked at me and walked away. My friend had also ordered a rib eye and was fine with a well done so we switched, the steak I got from him was basically raw so I asked for it to be cooked a bit more, they took my steak and cooked it much more than they said they would and it was medium well not medium rare. I could not be bothered to complain more so I tried to eat it, it was very chewy and the bernaise sauce I got with it was bad and kind of tasteless like the rest of the food. I stopped eating after only finishing half of it. Above our table there was a television showing a slideshow of very unappealing food from the restaurant, it was annoying having it in my face at all times plus the bad music made it a very bad experience. I would never go there again and I left with a bad feeling...

I went to this restaurant with all my family last summer to celebrate the 50th anniversary of marriage of my parents. We had to wait around 15 minutes to be sitting when we were the first customers. The restaurant in general in pretty and have a breathtaking view, so my mother was having a blast, we ordered a few bottles of champagne until we started feeling were rushed to order the food, so my mother kindly told the waitress to wait a bit. That blast came to the end when the waitress manager came to the table an sarcastically told my mother if she wanted more time, she will have it. After 1h and 20 min asking 4 times different waitress to take the order and I had to got up from my chair to tell them to take the order, the guy took the order and we wait another 50 minutes to be served. I have to say most of the waitress were friendly and also uncomfortable with the decision the manager was taking but they couldn’t do anything. Restaurant looked inviting and clean and but the welcome was less than friendly. Was guided to a nice table with a lovely view but surprised wasn’t asked if we would like to order drinks. Was just presented with menus and left for approximately 10 minutes (the restaurant was approximately only half capacity, therefore we could have understood and accepted a delay if it had been busy). Drinks order eventually taken. Took a further 10 minutes to arrive. Another 10 minutes and meal orders eventually taken. Around 15 minutes later order arrived, however my salad was wrong. Waiter looked at me as if I’d ordered it wrong! Most definitely had not. Partner had eaten his meal by the time my chosen salad had arrived. His chicken fillet meal can only be described as bland. I noted a couple in front of us had a query regarding something and waiter just threw his hands up in the air and walked off. This is our second visit to Mijas this year.
