Restaurante la Bella Copia — Restaurant in Mijas

Our family have been in Spain for nearly two weeks now and we have visited several poor restaurants in the Mijas area. Thank goodness we choose this restaurant when on the hunt for dinner. The owner greated us at the door and was perhaps a little bit pushy for us to eat at his place when we were originally walking by, however now I can see why he was so enthusiastic. I think he can turn the pressure down a notch. The restaurant has great views and really is an authentic Spanish kitchen. We were a family of four adults and two young children. We were told "if you don't like, you don't pay!" we'll honestly it was absolutely faultless. The staff were sooo friendly, funny and very accommodating. Their English speaking was very good too which helped. We ordered our food and the service was great. Free olives, free aubergine tapas etc. Drinks came quickly and the food came at perfect timing. All cooked fresh and the steaks were cooked on an open coal fire. The steak was huge, cooked perfectly and very tasty. The mother in-law had a lovely stroganoff. The prices were well matched to the quality and quantity of food. So overall we were very impressed, had a lovely experience and pleased to have found this great place. I'm surprised the reviews are not all 5 stars honestly! We will return again...

Was coerced into eating in the restaurant by a very friendly Spanish man - with the added bonus of €10 three course meal - bargain ,or €16 for a fresh paella.

Went in and was told they weren't doing the specials menu - paella was €32 for two ! Not €16 for two as stated when we went in.

€22 for a glass of red wine , large beer , two sprites and one coke. - feel this was overpriced as down the road we had paid €13.50 for one beer , x4 cokes , and two ice cream cones.

Children's meal was €3.50 - chicken nuggets were - to put it plainly - vile. Grey , fatty meat , kids did not enjoy them at all.

Pizza was average , more like a bread base. Garlic bread had no taste to it whatsoever.

Paella was nice - first experience - so no comparison , fresh seafood which tasted fresh.

Staff were helpful and polite.

Feel the food was over priced -...

The waiter gave wrong information about the food I ordered. The food included ingredients that I couln’t eat even I made sure twice when making the order. When the food came and I told that to him, he said it is not his problem… like what?!?!? And he said that if I wanna change I have to pay the first one also anyway… We got sorry from another member of the staff when we told about the situation when he asked that how was food but not any even small credit… And we were very polite all the time, like not tricky tourists. Have to say that we are going to avoid this restaurant. Felt no respect as a client....
