We went to Malaga with 16 people to suprise my brother who turned 60. It was may 2019 and Oscars closes at 21:00 at that period. We would arrive in Malaga at 19:30, had to pick up our cars and go directly to Oscars in Mijas I called from the Netherlands to talk about it and Oscars stayed open longer just for us. We surprised our brother, who came with my sister in law, thinking I was there with my 3 daughters. :-D With 18 people stayed till 23:30 / 00:00 ;-) We told Oscars that we leave it up to them what to serve us the first round so we can taste and one can order more of what ever one likes. Just make it happen for 18 people. Every one at Oscars was so helpfull. The food was excellent and served quickly. The sweet old lady (owner I think) was very kind and gratefull and gave us all a shot to drink. We could choose between Brandy or Limoncello. We had a great time and are Oscars gratefull for all that they did. Unfortunally we didn't make a picture with them all from Oscars. Next time I will. Thanks for all Oscars and...
Read moreEnticed by the “panoramic views” sign, we descended the self-styled “DANGEROUS RAMP” in search of tapas and came across Oscar’s. First hurdle: they only take cash - pretty crazy in 2024! As soon as the food arrived, we knew we had made a mistake. The salads looked mass produced - like they had been spooned out of plastic packaging. In fact, it was as if they bought everything at Iceland. Nothing was home made! Even garlic bread and battered prawns seemed to have been put in the microwave from the freezer. To round it all off, we ordered two glasses of tinto de verano (usually a safe bet) - it was like drinking Cif bathroom cleaner. Disgusting! To be avoided! We will not...

Chicken Roquefort, chorizo in red wine sauce, and meatballs in curried sauce are always high on our list. Can't fault any of the dishes we've ever ordered and we usually order up to a dozen between 4 which is enough to fill the table.
Those not driving also enjoy the cocktails and they will make them without alcohol if you want.
Mijas gets very hot so ensure you organise a table in shade and then you're set for an hour or so of tasty tapas and drinks. Don't be put off by the lack of scenic view from your seat since the food is the attraction. It's also great value - bring cash not back card, there's...
