Baobab — Restaurant in Mojácar

Went here on a recommendation early Wednesday evening. There were a few people sat outside but as it was a cool evening we went indoors. The interior is pleasant enough with lots of natural wood but like most places in Spain the lighting was a bit bright. Pity they didn't have candles on the tables but hey. Initially we didn't fancy sitting there on our own so we ordered a drink each, One Rosado and one Tinto wine. They were big glasses, they don't skimp on measures here. We decided to look at the menu and we were surprised to see the steaks were reasonably cheap. (They do several different steaks and some are to share so it's a bit complicated to explain). However. we decided to have one Entrana steak (€11) and one Caramelo Steak (€13) both of which were delicious. The Entrana was slightly more tender but the taste of the Caramelo was amazing and at these prices, hard to beat. They both came with either Salad or Potato and with hind sight, we should have ordered an additional salad to accompany these dishes, which would have given us a bit of roughage. I would recommend the steaks but next time we visit Im having the BBQ which unfortunately has to be a shared plate for two.

WE had a second glass of wine each and there was a complimentary glass of Brandy to finish.

We didn't have a starter or desert so I cant comment on these. Service was good polite and knowledgable.

This is (i think) one of the nearest restaurants to the golf course and the supporting Hotels so, as with last night, you get a lot of Golfers come in after a game and it can get a bit noisy, but nothing to be concerned about. Just people having Fun.

We sat outside to finish our drinks and the balcony is relaxed and comfortable. It was particularly quiet given that its on the road.

Toilets were clean and there was a lock on the door with a ladies and a gents though there was no towel in the gents so washing your hands was an issue. In summary, a great little restaurant/Bar with a simple but good menu at reasonable prices. Our total bill was...

Lo descubrimos el año pasado, y se no pasó hacer el comentario. Como este año, hemos repetido lugar de vacaciones, hemos vuelto al sitio donde la atención del personal y la calidad del producto es excelente. Tiene su encanto, te deja llevar y te hace sentir muy a gusto. Te miman y hacen todo lo posible para que tu estancia en el local sea grata. La calidad y precio de los productos es muy buena. Hoy nos hemos decidido a probar la parrilla de carne y decir espectacular es decir poco. Es una muy buena elección y sales del Baobab muy satisfecho y contento. Hemos vuelto y seguiremos volviendo. Edición del 10 de agosto: hemos vuelto y hemos probado otros platos, todo excelente. Desde luego que es la mejor elección para comer y tomar una copa o lo que prefieras. La atención y cariño de Ana, es de otro mundo, que persona tan simpática, cariñosa y atenta, es todo dulzura. Enhorabuena por vuestro trabajo. Nos veremos el año que viene y gracias por todo 12 de agosto del 2023 y acabamos de llegar a Mojácar. El primer sitio en pisar es Baobab y descubrir que sigue manteniendo su amabilidad y hospitalidad característica es todo un placer!! La comida es excelente, el servicio muy profesional y la simpatía de Ana está asegurada. Sigue siendo nuestro lugar de referencia....

Not a vast menu, have a vegetarian friend who will eat prawns.. but mainly meat as expected on menu..great service and food flavours. Hub had steak, beautiful piece of meat served with potatoes not chips..but meat for preference could have had another 2 mins cook time. I appreciate chef knows est but his medium was rare...I had chicken no complaints..followed by crepes..hub had tiramisu again no...
