We stopped by mainly for a quick break to grab some juice and coffee before continuing our journey. To our surprise, we were automatically served bread, olives, and some sweets. Later, we learned that the place is likely owned by an Italian, as this is more of an Italian tradition than a Spanish one. At first, we were a bit worried it might be a tourist trap, but the prices turned out to be reasonable. Even though we hadn’t asked for the extras, we ended up quite happy to have received them.

The restaurant is perched on a rocky cliff often frequented by fishermen. There’s a direct staircase leading from the restaurant down to the cliff, adding to its charm.

The toilets inside are quite unique and stylish. I even used a few drops of the Valentino perfume provided and spent a moment reading about the taxation systems for big corporations in Cuba and South Korea during my time there (you’ll understand if you visit). Next time I come here, I think I’ll wear some of my semi-erotic, extravagant clothes made of leather and velvet. I feel the passion, I...

Volvió a respondernos mal.

The location is beautiful, right on the sea. We went at the sunset and it was simply romantic! The food we ordered was good enough, the location makes up for it anyways! However, there are 2 main points which left us with mixed feelings:

  1. they bring you bread with butter and dried tomatoes without you asking for it, you would think it is an invitation from the house while waiting for your dinner BUT at the end they charged us 6 euro!!!

  2. you can't pay by card, so we had to withdraw money in advance, pay a commission for it and waste time in going to the ATM. To be honest this is not ethic, nor acceptable!

Too bad they ruined an entire experience, often the small details make the...

Amazing food and location. The staff is friendly and helpful in English. Views and ocean break sounds fantastic even on a grey sky day. Prices are significantly higher, especially for drinks then elsewhere on the island. FYI this restaurant is Cash Only. They do not offer any other payment options. The nearest ATM is a long distance drive away so plan an average of 20 to 40 euros cash per person minimum. Dried tomatoes with butter and bread so good. As is the steak too. Highly recommended.

What a hidden gem! Fantastic service; great food; unrivalled views; familiar and friendly while maintaining professionalism. El Roque Locanda blends rusticity and authenticity with perfectly ironed table clothes and thin stemmed wine glasses. Set on a cliff edge in the unassuming village of San Felipe and a short taxi from the city I’ll be returning for more of the crisp wine and daily catch and an unavoidable serving of charm from Atilio.
