La Casa del Celíaco — Restaurant in Murcia

As its name suggests, Casa de Celiaco is the perfect place to meet your celiac or gluten-intolerant friends for coffee.

They offer a wide variety of gluten-free options and baked goods, from sweet to savory, including products to go like cereal and beer. We tried the pastel de carne, hojaldre de pollo, a carrot cake muffin, and a piece of apple cake/bizcocho.

The apple cake was the best. It was so moist and not too sweet. The hojaldre de pollo was also very good-- couldn't even tell it was gluten-free. I was pleasantly surprised with the pastel de carne, because that flaky crust is hard to achieve, but Casa de Celiaco did an admirable job. Unfortunately, the carrot cake muffin was a bit dry, but I'm not gonna let that ruin the experience or recommendation, because gluten free is tricky.

I'd love to go back and try their baguettes and other breads.

The service was quick and super friendly. I told the server I wanted to try a variety of things, and she gave me detailed explanations on everything. They also made sure to let us know that everything in the café was 100% gluten-free, so we could dine comfortably.

Una experiencia muy gratificante. Soy de Murcia pero vivo fuera, en un pueblo de Alicante. Mi intolerancia al gluten y los lácteos me apareció hace 3 años. Aquí solo puedo conseguir productos de supermercados, ultraporcesados y poca variedad. Me hace muy feliz tener DOS confiterías adecuadas para mí. Donde puedo comer sin miedo todo lo que me gusta de Murcia y que hacía años que no podía comer: tortas de pascua, pastel de carne, empanadas murcianas, monas... Además de clásicos como croissant, napolitanas, roscos de vino.... ¡Churros! Para colmo, esta semana he comprado el roscón de Reyes (lágrimas de felicidad) y lleva regalos y todo como toca! Son placeres que uno no aprecia hasta que ya no puede participar en lo que hace la mayoría, ni disfrutar de sus postres favoritos. Otro puntazo imposible de conseguir para mí por aquí (donde vivo) ha sido el PAN INTEGRAL sin gluten. ¡Buenísimo! Y todo se puede congelar para ir administrándolo. He hecho un cargamento y llenado el congelador. Ya sé qué haré cuando vuelva de visita familiar. También tienen cafetería. Un lujo poder ir con amigas y tomarme mi café y desayuno sin restricciones. Es cierto que es caro. Pero todo lo sin gluten lo es y no es ni la mitad de bueno ni variado que aquí. Merece...

Their bakery was located just outside my hotel. Their work is nothing short of delicious and artistic. I would highly recommend this. They also carry gluten-free beer and other items so you could literally make a meal of it. As a person with celiac, it’s difficult to travel. Locations like this...
