Great Greek Cabo Roig — Restaurant in Orihuela

I came here with 2 of my friends tonight. Coming from the hospitality industry I would never normally post negative reviews and speak directly with the "management ". However, having tried to do this to no avail I am sharing our experience. We waited 40 minutes between starter and our main course. Asked 2 waitresses how long it would be as several tables who came in after us had received their food before us . The waitress politely and truthfully told us no one told the kitchen the starters were back. When the mains arrived. 1 dish was correct . The other 2 requested no cucumber particularly mine as I have a severe allergy. Both had cucumber, mine with extra . The manager took it away and brought it back minus the cucumber but unfortunately all 3 dishes were cold. He said he would compensate us with coffees/beverages. When we requested the bill there was no deduction so asked to speak with the manager as the waitress was confused . He said he could not make any deduction without the authority of the...

I very rarely write negative reviews, and is a firm believer in giving the venue the opportunity to sort out an issue there and then, but in this case this was not done even when prompted multiple times. The food here is OK, and the portions are big so go hungry. When we visited (party of five) the started came quickly (bread and tzatziki) but then we had to wait for 1,5 hours on the main courses. It was close to impossible to get the attention of the waiting staff (every table around us had the same challenge), and it was only when I got up and walk over to one of the waiters and told them that if we don’t get our food within the next 10 min we would leave that we finally got the service. To make things worse, they had live music (man playing guitar) which was so loud that we couldn't talk but have to shout to hear what the others were saying around the table. They are absolutely amazing! As a chef with many years of experience, I don’t even have the words to describe how incredible their food is. My biggest “problem” is living nearby, every time I smell their food, I can’t resist going in! I’m going broke because now I have to eat there at least twice a week, and I just can’t get enough. Beyond the amazing food, they have the best staff I’ve ever met. The floor staff is fantastic, so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. And the cherry on top? They’re pet-friendly! My dog is always soooo spoiled whenever we go there.

I highly recommend this place! You won’t regret it! This is, without a doubt, my number one restaurant in Orihuela Costa.
