Restaurante Y.O.L.O. — Restaurant in Orihuela

Stopped by for a family lunch. The food and drinks were perfectly fine – nothing to complain about there – but the service left us genuinely shocked.

Towards the end of the meal, the waitress came over and asked if we were finished so she could start clearing the table. We politely explained that the children were still eating, but she was welcome to take the empty plates. Already at this point, she seemed noticeably irritated with our group, though we hadn’t done anything unusual.

While clearing plates, we asked if we could order some more drinks. She began taking the order while still tidying up, but in the middle of it, she abruptly turned around and walked away without saying anything. Surprised, one of the children – thinking she perhaps hadn’t heard the last order – called it after her.

That was apparently too much. She spun around, returned to the table with a cold and angry expression, and snapped that she had actually planned to come back and that we didn’t need to “shout orders” at her. We calmly tried to explain that it was just a misunderstanding and asked her to cancel the drink order. Her response: that she would gladly do so – with clear irritation in her voice.

We’ve never experienced such rude treatment at a restaurant. Being scolded in front of the children, without having done anything wrong, completely ruined what could have been a...

This is the second time we go and both times terrible service from the owner. Very rude man. Apperol Spritz made with old cava and therefore not nice. Sent it back and got a drink with bare minumum if apperol so it haf no flavor. The previous drink was rich of apperol. I orderer a rose but the waitress offered to add more apperol which I accepted but didn’t ask for. The owner cane to me almost yelling that he had already put ao much and if I wanted more I had to pay. Told him I just wanted the rose as I didn’t want to add more money to an already bad drink. Well you still have to pay for the apperol spritz. I said I knew that but still wanted the rose. The waitress was mortified. Food is ok but the rest is just not worth it. We've been going to Yolo for about 5 years, always found the food lovely and the service friendly. We went this morning, we weren't allowed to swap on the breakfast menu, ie. Beans to mushrooms. The staff were not friendly. I picked the salt up and the lid fell off and there was salt everywhere, I scraped the excess off my plate. I mentioned to the staff at the end so they were aware of the salt on the floor and I apologised. One man more or less tutted at me and the waitress was pretty dismissive, I would've thought an apology back to me would have been a nice gesture as my food was ruined and I hadn't complained.
