We eat here fairly often when in Cabo roig. We visited this last week and although the service was efficient we were left a little disappointed, we felt the same last year. It seems the aim of the service times now at Asia fusion is to be as quick as possible-slightly forgivable when we visited last July and it was busy, not so much over this last week in a less than half full restaurant. I’d ordered a veggie spring roll and was given a meat one instead, part of the issue is it felt literally thrown on the table by a very rushed looking lady, maybe that’s were the mistake was made? I got a fresh veggie one fairly quickly. Husband got chicken skewers and the portion was tiny - much smaller than last year with two very small skewers vs the normally good sized three skewers.
Our starter dishes were taken away and near immediately our mains were out, same as last year 😕 they were very tasty. Japanese style tofu is always lovely here. Husband got the Thai curry which he said tasted nice, but like his starter contained far less meat than our previous visits. When we finished our mains the plates were whipped away quickly again and asked immediately if we wanted desert. It just felt very very rushed, when we wanted a relaxing meal to enjoy each other’s company and the lovely food.
I’d recommend visiting for the lovely food and atmosphere but next time I’d like it to be a little less manic. Also for regular visitors, be aware of the lessening of...
Read moreUsed to be the Wok buffet, had a refurb. Looks nice from outside and has a nice outdoor seating area, inside is nicely refurbished but not sure about the crushed blue velvet seating. Need to say that the food was good, apart from the duck pancakes which were very cold. We had the set menu for 2. Peking duck, chicken curry, sizzling beef and noodles (rice if you prefer) plus a small dessert. Includes a drink.. 15 Euros. However.... The whole experience was manic and stressful... DO NOT go here when it's busy if you are looking to have a relaxing meal! Took ages to get a menu, staff are running around like headless chickens. There are separate drinks waiters that can't take food orders. Food waiters don't seem to know who ordered anything, so they just stood in the middle of the restaurant (unfortunately right next to our table) and shouted out the order (loudly) until somebody claimed it. Our order was more or less thrown on the table, sizzling dish served on tin foil which stuck to the food (not good if you have fillings!) The table next to us wasn't cleared for 20 mins and the bar was stacked with dirty plates (see pics).. Adding to the chaos. Very noisy and overall quite a stressful experience. I don't know what it's like during quieter periods, but there are plenty of other good Asian food options close and nearby, so I won't be finding out. Oh,...
Read moregot a terrible food poisoning. On medicine for nearly two weeks! Shame on you!!*
Used to be much better! One of my favourite places! Not anymore...
Food off the menu was so so... Serving soup Thai curry in a high dish makes it very uncomfortable to pick it up- my scallops one had very little to eat, mostly liquid, leaving me quite hungry.
The service was mostly friendly BUT ....at the end two waiters thought it was ok to have a chat in their native language, laughing over our heads whilst clearing the table, didn't even ask how our food was... Wasn't very professional or pleasant !
Also, I was nearly hit in my head with the dishes a couple of times, I had to duck, whilst the servers seemed unperturbed. Had to ask for extra duck sauce( very little was given the first time) three different waiters, one was wandering around after we asked, clearly forgotten about it...
The atmosphere is still lovely, they have a great decor for sure.
All in all, there are better more value for money options around to go to. It's a shame that being a touristic spot they'll still be very busy without bothering to improve. But I do hope that management turns things...
