B-Side Cafe — Restaurant in Pájara

In summary the food was very dry and very disappointing considering that everywhere else so far on our holiday in Fuerteventura has served lovely food.

I had the pork fillet, which was supposed to come with a sauce but they had run out - apparently the chef lacked either the ability or the initiative to come up with something else. They did give me potatoes with it instead though, but there was nothing to contrast with the dryness.

My wife had an “aubergine parmigiana” which was so dry and congealed that I can only suppose it had been prepared in advance and reheated. When we complained about it we were basically told that that’s how it comes, and nothing was offered by way of goodwill or compensation. We’ve had parmigiana in several other restaurants over the years and we can tell when it’s not freshly cooked.

It seems that this place is generally highly rated so perhaps we just got unlucky, or perhaps the other guests enjoy dry food and average service. Don’t know and don’t care, we certainly won’t be back.

Mixed experience, went as a group of 4. Ordered 3 mains and 1 starter and pasta course. Was hoping the starter would come first followed by the burgers and pasta as a main but unfortunately the starter and burgers came at the same time and the pasta course was nowhere to be found...little awkward. The worst meal we’ve had in Fuerteventura and probably the worst Italian food I’ve ever eaten. Aubergine parmigiana was dry, with no tomato sauce, just a thick layer of cheese that wasn’t very nice. Told the waitresses and nothing was done to make up for it. My husband’s food was more edible, but again dry… pork and chips, with no sauce.
