Recently visited this restaurant, which was recommended to us, hoping for a delightful experience, but unfortunately, my encounter left much to be desired. Upon arrival, my party was directed to a less favorable area, the smoking section, under the impression that the restaurant was fully reserved. Surprisingly, the majority of the space was unoccupied, leaving us puzzled about the seating arrangement. Our corner table, surrounded by miscellaneous items and gardening tools, created an atmosphere that didn't align with the expected dining ambiance.
Moreover, our initial intention was a casual visit for dessert and coffee, but we found ourselves seated in a back corner table originally intended as a smoking place with a view of the staff smoking and chefs and servers eating. This seating choice, despite our clear preference, contributed to a less enjoyable dining experience from the start.
To add to our disappointment, when we expressed our concerns, the response we received was dismissive and somewhat arrogant. This, coupled with the lack of politeness from the serving staff, further marred the overall visit. The gentleman attending to our table seemed uninterested and failed to express the common courtesy of a simple "thank you."
Regrettably, the culmination of these factors has led me to reconsider recommending the restaurant based on my...
Read moreI was luckily taken here here by my partner for my birthday meal and wow, what an amazing restaurant.
On arrival we received a warm and friendly welcome and were shown to our table on the beautiful terrace.
The whole place is beautiful, and tasteful in a lovely location.
The food is outstanding, fresh and local, and as we found out from another restaurant we ate at it, is the best on the island.
We both started with the gazpacho soup and then my partner had the goat and I had the local lamb, which was exquisite. We did order a Catalan crème for desert to share, as we were sufficiently full. Also as it was my birthday, I was presented with a strawberry ice cream heart and all the staff sang Happy birthday to me, which was a lovely and sweet touch.
I do not know the final price, but looking at the menu it is extremely good value. Top quality food and affordable prices.
I would definitely recommend you to go to this restaurant when you are staying in the area, but I do know you need to book in advance.
I will most definitely be back when I next visit...
Read moreWhat a find! Tucked away in Esquinzo village a superb restaurant - it's the Fat Duck of the Canaries - you wouldn't stumble across it by accident but that's good, people travel here for the quality and they are right to do so.
Set down low in its own windproof hollow, the food and the service have been wonderful. Fish croquettes like clouds of fishy loveliness as any good croquette should be, followed by a steak cooked to perfection, my husband's goulash starter and turkey breast also. A fantastic meal for us both.
I heartily recommend a local Cananrian wine too, La Grieta - a perfect accompaniment to the meal.
Our waitress Rebeca has was also very happy to adapt my main course so I didn't get croquettes twice, though given how good they were that wouldn't have been such a bad thing.
All in all a super experience. Call,...
