Here you get 5 star treatment just like as if you were to have dinner at the Hilton or Park Hyatt Hotel. The ambience is very Ralph Lauren tropical holiday dark wooden furniture Caribbean Bistro (not white table cloth). This place should get a MICHELIN recognition. Oh maybe it shouldn't cos it's beyond that old fashioned establishment. This resturant has been there for 25 years so the owner know what they are doing. The food well every single bite was a joy. You must eat it slowly because it's a joy and if you eat it too fast you may forget to recognise some of the tastes. Just take your time to enjoy and close your eyes when you eat it. The food was clearly made properly by experienced chefs. I don't know if this review even gives it the credit it should deserve. I think they have done everything right. I have been to alot of resturants in the world and this place has everything spot on. Price spot on, menu selection of Spanish and modern cuisine spot on, catering for all worldly taste buds also spot on . I felt like I was in some well done well carried resturant in Shinjinku Tokyo or something beautiful like the having dinner at the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong. What ever it is this resturnat has the same height as places like these. Really what ana amazing place. In Spain the only other place I have expeienced such a taste of food was in Madrid , a place where the king of Spain went to.. well even that place comes no where close to everything this resturnat in Padron offers. It is a top Gem . It should be a place where people lines up for . A life time to try the food. The owner is a bit eccentric though that added to the reason for a 6 star review. Thank you so much for being...
Read moreI can’t comment on the food, because we didn’t stay to eat.
My family and I were excited to try the padrón peppers here as they had just come into season. We weren’t very hungry but had heard good things about this restaurant and that they purchased from local farms, so we decided to give it a try. The atmosphere is cozy and warm with the feel of a home library or used bookstore.
Unfortunately, a few things kept us from staying to eat. The first was that the owner, who was extremely arrogant, had to take a minute to himself when I said I was vegetarian. At first I thought it was a joke but then I realized that he took personal offense to this. He literally had to turn away from our table to collect himself after I told him. He was also offended that we asked to put the tuna off to the side on a dish so that I could eat it, saying we were “ruining the dish”. But the last straw was that he refused to serve us if we didn’t order at least 4-5 different dishes. As I stated at the beginning of this review we weren’t very hungry and really wanted to try local padrón peppers and support local farms. Nowhere in the restaurant did it say that there was a minimum requirement for purchase in euro or number of dishes. None of my family felt like eating food we didn’t want to or continuing to be insulted, so we got up and found somewhere to eat that was friendlier and let us order what we wanted to.
If you want to feel demeaned, guilted into buying more than you want, or insulted, by all means eat here....
Read moreHad lunch at this restaurant yesterday due to the positive Google reviews. However it turned out to be the worst restaurant at the Camino this time. There's nothing special about the food quality except for the price. The pimiento costed you 15 euros while the average price in other restaurants is 5-7 euros in Galicia.
But that's not the only surprise, you could only pay in cash and the young Chinese waitress told you very cool that there's a sign at the entrance to warn u cash only in Spanish.Fine, u can make the menu in English with pictures in order to attract foreign customers, but at the same time not willing to warn them cash only in English. Credit card is widely accepted in Spain, even in small groceries, not mention restaurants. I highly suspect that this one do it on purpose to save some TAX?
There're many nice restaurants around corner in Padron and I'd suggest you to stay away this...
