We felt let down. We opted for this restaurant over the recommended restaurant next door because the menu of the day had more variety.

I chose an artichoke and prawn starter that had a cost of +3€ to upgrade to. It was not what you'd have expected, with a strange cheap asian style sauce that was clearly an attempt to mask the poor product. Even afer having asked if the veg was fresh. It was very unreasonable to have charged an extra cost for that starter. But my mistake for expecting a local style dish I suppose from the description.

The mains were ok and we had no complaints there. The fish was well cooked.

The cakes were all very well presented. We enjoyed the amount of choice you had at the bar. However, being so so sweet as Spanish cakes tend to be, we couldnt even eat a quarter of one of the pieces, so asked if we could have it to take away. No problem, as expected, as this is very common practice in Spain as a whole. Later, checking the bill, we noticed an 80 cent charge for the 'tupper' to take the cake away. The first time in my life Ive seen this, especially in this area where I have spent over 25 years of my life. Frankly a joke.

We would always tip, but after a 3€ surcharge for a poor poor starter, along with a fee for the tupper....this place already dipped their hands in our pockets unjustifiably. Losing out on double that as a potential tip. These small yet notable touches will stop us from ever returning.

Finally, the service was friendly and for the majority professional. But nothing above the ordinary for this area. Its a shame these small things can stick in your mind. One waiter clearly wasn't thrilled to be at work that day, but warmed up to us by the end. Still, it lowered the tone to begin with.

I apologise for this lukewarm review. I always try to leave positive feedback, but highlight issues when necessary.

Not recommended. Go next-door...

Beautiful venue with a local ambiance. Perfect for any group size as they offer down and upstairs seating along with outside. Ordered two glasses of white wine (3.50pp), fisherman’s rice (21€pp), and a coconut lemon cake(6.50).

Fisherman’s rice: 10/10. Perfect seasoning and good amount of seafood. Highly recommended.

Coconut lemon cake: 3/10. Although they have many house made cakes, I was disappointed with this one. It was on the drier side and crumbled immediately after getting a spoonful. The icing seemed old or left out for a while as well. However….. with an espresso, the cake rose back up from the dead and was edible.

Despite the dessert, I’d come back again. Maybe next time, I’ll for the waiter’s recommendation of...

We were dining early on a Tuesday evening and looking for a quiet place that was not too expensive and had some good vegetarian options. The proprietress was brisk and friendly and whisked us to an outside table almost before we knew what was happening. We shared a large platter of grilled vegetables with romesco and romaine lettuce and a zarazuela; both were delicious. We sipped mint tea while the rain came down, but we were protected by the canopy and very content. We needed a cab back to our hotel and the owner was kind enough to call one for us; when it took a long time for him to show up, she called again and explained how to find us. I wish now that we had tried one of the desserts, they look very good!
