This is a meat and 2 veg restaurant (in that the meat dishes are served with fries or boiled new potatoes with a couple of padron peppers chucked on top). There are lots of this type of restaurant in Mallorca.. the locals love them and of course it is a novelty for visitors
It's USP is being on a hill outside Palma and for those who don't mind sitting with chain smoking Europeans, you can sit on an upper terrace outside with a view over the surrounding countryside.
Otherwise there is also a lower terrace (similarly smoky), or a very large inside area which gets very busy, noisy and echoey.
Despite being mainly a meat restaurant, they do also have fish, omelettes, paella, snails etc
Guests love the novelty of having little slices of beef delivered which they can cook themselves on a sizzling platter on the table... (steak on the stone).
My elderly parents-in-law (who like their food plain), absolutely love this place, but for me it's just too busy and echoey and too basic for the price point. For example.. the steak on the stone they ordered was about 50 euros for the pair of them and what came out was a little metal dish with not much more than a palm-sized piece of meat on it, cut into very thin slices. My husband ordered lamb chops which are by their nature very greasy, but the fries it came with were piled underneath to soak up the grease and were consequently inedible.
I guess it depends what you like, but for me I prefer a more refined plate of food. This is not a restaurant I would visit for a night out unless I was accompanying somebody who was desperate to go there because they...

I ordered the premium burger, the waiter promptly responded with the words "disaster!". I was a little unsettled, but it seemed like it was meant in an ironic and positive way (something like "damn good"). Well, when our food arrived, I received my disaster. Visually alone it had nothing in common with the menu, look at the tiny fried egg. The waiter was visibly proud of the "disaster". In fact, the burger also tasted like a disaster, the meat dry and unseasoned in addition to the poor presentation. The fries were also very greasy and partly not ready fried. Finally, when the waiter cleaned our table he looked at me and was repeatedly saying "disaster, catastrophe...", it felt like he was making fun of me because I ordered a burger. From then on, my desire was now completely gone and I just wanted to pay and disappear. Of course, the bill was also wrong (2x wine we had not ordered). So my suggestion to the waiter: if the burger is really so bad, then I expect 1) that an alternative is recommended to me 2) the burger is simply made better or 3) you do not offer the burger on the menu at all! And last: I really do not want to be insulted if I ordered something wrong! I'm not a local and I'm happy to get recommendations, but not insults!

Read moreTwo weeks ago, my friends and I visited this restaurant. One of my friends and I shared the suckling pig and lamb shoulder. A few hours later, we both experienced severe food poisoning. I promptly emailed the restaurant the next day to inform them but received no reply.
Having been a loyal customer for many years, I decided to give them another chance last Saturday. Since my email went unanswered, I spoke directly with the manager straight away. To my dismay, he didn’t apologise until we were paying the bill after I had said an apology would be polite. Instead of addressing the issue, he insisted that they never received my email even though I showed it to him. It wasn’t until I pointed out the lack of an apology that he begrudgingly took one coffee off our bill.
After spending two days extremely ill, I expected a bit more courtesy and understanding. I wasn’t seeking compensation, just a sincere apology. Instead, I received a free coffee on a £210 bill as a token gesture—what a slap in the face.
Sadly, tonight’s meal was mediocre. The food was nothing special, and even the sangria was overly sweet and watered down. It's disappointing to see how the quality of both the food and service has declined over the years.
For anyone considering dining here, I would advise you to GO...
