We have eaten here on several occasions, but something has changed. On arrival we were given a table which was wobbly, on the corner wall, next to the waiters, who stood chatting over the top of us. When I asked if we could move to a different 2 seat table they said no, despite there only being us and another couple eating. The food portions and quality were poor. My husband left complaining he was still hungry. The bill was quite expensive for two starters and mains too. Both of my dishes were served with a couple of small prices of greasy pita. Another person has added a photo of my main course, which was a lamb burger on some wilted lettuce and cucumber and a couple more pieces of greasy pitas. It included pesto on one side which didn’t really fit and a very spicy tomato sauce on the other which was inedible. My hubby had meatballs, well there were three, and some orzo. I am not a chef, but I have produced more appetising meals at home. It’s a shame because we have driven a distance to visit this restaurant. Definitely not the quality I have had previously and it was not dissimilar to take away food. We should have realised as there were many empty tables which has never been the case previously. Walking back to the car park we noticed that all the restaurants in the side street were full. This Greek restaurant has a prime location, but they need to bring their food back up to standard if they want...
Read moreWe have visited here over a dozen times and its fair to say it was one of our favourite places, our last visit in June was very disappointing, the staff were the same smiling and friendly people we are used to, maybe a little more attention on bringing out cutlery etc on time but minor issue, we had the bread and tzatziki starter which was superb and for the main course we had the fish platter, we have had this at least half a dozen times before and thoroughly enjoyed it, this one we both thought was very overcooked, tuna was nearly inedible, salmon was very dry [my partner loved the salmon here) they have changed some of the fish in the dish and maybe not bbq'd anymore but we both thought it was very poor standard of cooking for 40 euro or any price to be fair , the fish dish was sent back and replaced with chicken kebab which was also overcooked and not eaten, we had a lovely bottle of alvarino as usual so good and bad here, at the end we were told the chef was happy with what he served to us, more than anything this will stop us from eating or recommending here again as if happy with what we received that is more than a one off, sad for us as lost one of our...
Read moreI wanted to take my 80 year old parents out for a nice beach side lunch. We chose the Isla Mediterranea as it was by the sea and looked nice. We chose our spot in the shade as it was quite a warm day for October. The staff were initially friendly and helpful, we ordered drinks and starters for nibbles. Then while eating the waiter wound in all the sun shades, so I asked if he was closing, he said at 4.30, it was 3.30. So now we are sitting in the sun that we did not want, so he dragged a large umbrella over for us. Then he started to put all the other tables away, and drag other large umbrellas by us to put away, so noisy! Then while I was still eating he tried to take away my food!! I said I am still eating and he insisted on taking the food from the plate and putting it on a small bowl! He then took the plate that still had food on it and again I said I am still eating can I please just finish my food and he said yes and left us alone, but it was too late the whole experience had been spoiled by the staffs rush to close. Wont...
