La Gola Beach — Restaurant in Pollença

We are a family of 4 and we visited La Gola yesterday for lunch. Unfortunately our experience was very poor on multiple fronts. We waited at least 10 mins before a waiter acknowledged our presence and took drink orders. I ordered one of the smoothie options. We then ordered food whilst waiting another 10 min for drinks. The wrong smoothie drink arrived and when I explained, the waiter hunched his shoulders and said this is what was ordered. It 100% was not! I ordered paella for 2 and was told they only had one chef and it would be over 45 mins and I was more or less persuaded by the waiter to order something else. We then waiter over an hour for all our dishes to arrive. We were not asked if we'd like any further drink orders in this period and the restaurant was not even one third of capacity. When our meals did arrive my daughters Grilled fish dish had a creamy parsley sauce all over the meal when there was absolutely no mention of a sauce in the menu. When we questioned this and asked what was in the sauce the waiter again hunched his shoulders and said its 'the sauce'! To add insult to injury, when I was asked by the waiter at the end of the meal how our food was, I said that my daughter couldn't eat her dish as it was smothered with a sauce she didn't like and didn't order, we got no response and were then charged for a cocktail on the bill when we had one round of soft drinks the entire meal. Took a family of eight of us to here for food.

We all ordered food majority of it was okay.

I myself ordered Calamari - "Waiter insisted I try some tartar"

She never forced it on me " but what she did say was this is very similar to calamari.

What came out was just raw tuna tart built up with onions and bay leaves.

When challenged why she suggested this was similar to calamari.

" she says she never forced it on me"

I said calamari and tuna are two different types of fish.

If someone asks for calamari why would you suggest this.

She said she is going to be €20.00 short on her wages now rudely.

The waiters were raising eyebrows and seemed to be arguing amongst one another.

They seemed to be getting everyone's orders wrong.

Quite a toxic environment to work in.

Won't be visiting again.

Too exspensive - basic quality food.

After placing our order we waited one hour before we asked if they forgot our food. Then the waiter told us we have to wait 5 minutes it will be ready soon. After waiting for another 15 minutes we told them to cancel the order and we pay and leave, as we saw that other tables already finished their meals even though they came after us. The waiter denied this and told us the restaurant is full and we are to blame as we also ordered starters and placed ourselves behind all the others. The owner of the restaurant saw what happened and only intervened to tell us to be quiet. It was really awkward to be blamed for the delay instead of being offered an excuse or any kind of compensation as we were already patiently waited for one hour.
