Llaüt Beach Bar — Restaurant in Pollença

I have been here 4 or 5 times before over the past 3 years, and usually have a gin and tonic. This time, however, I ordered a Xoriguer Frappé, thinking it would at the least taste like Xoriguer gin, however what arrived was a glass of crushed ice, which only and I swear, ONLY, tasted like water. No sign of any Xoriguer, no sign of the advertised ginger or mint..... I had my partner taste it, as she had exactly the same impression. And so I went up to the bar and asked if they had forgotten to add the gin. No, they put a standard measure in, which is 50ml, but you can pay for more, if you want. One of the barmaids then proceeded to tell me that indeed one doesn't taste the Xoriguer, as it is covered up in the ice, and ginger and mint tastes???? Then why not put half the amount of crushed ice? Why not call it something else, such as "Slush with a Mint...

Very, very happy with this bar/cafe right on the beach and the hospitality of Pedro and his wonderful team. Often the places where you can get sand between your toes are pricier and a little less welcoming, but Llaut is the exception that proves the rule. After I finished my trip, my parents (who had a longer holiday in beautiful Porto Pollenca) returned daily for the (quality) coffee, and when my mother's birthday came around the staff made a fuss and treated them with free drinks!! This is the kind of hospitality you always hope for when travelling but rarely get. Again, a big thanks for looking after Mum and Dad, and for your great music choice, cold beer and excellent Panko-crumbed calamari... guys, stop by here if you're...

2 stars is for location. Service so disappointing! Arrived at 8pm after day on the beach and took ten minutes to get noticed with only 4 tables occupied. I noticed they closed at 9pm so at 8.40pm I asked to order a gin and tonic and was refused as closing at 9pm (when I was being picked up) They also turned another new customer away. I live in Pollensa and work in tourism but won’t be recommending this place. They must make so much money they don’t care about repeat customers, who come in an out of peak months. Just change the closing time on sign to 20h30…but serve til the time...
