Bar Restaurant Casa David — Restaurant in Portbou

We went to this Restaurant because it is close to the trainstation and we had to catch a trail about an hour and a half later. The reviews were pretty good online, but we experienced differently.. The waiter was rather mean and took about 15 minutes to bring us their menu. After we decided what we wanted to eat we had to wait another ten minutes for him to come to us but he only did this after we called for him. The Food we ordered took a lot longer than old and the portions were small but acceptable for the price. Our Friend ordered Sausage which was completely forgotten by them and served when the others were done eating… In conclusion our visit was okay but the staff could be a lot friendlier to their guest’s! So went back again the next evening. Some of the menu had changed.

The waitress recommendations, the 2nd night, were spot on again.

Very good wines too.

Sitting outside with a sloping table with locals at other tables just capped it off.

If it weren't for my need to do different things, I'd not be unhappy to eat there again tomorrow.

Love this place. Always drop by when in Portbou to buy cheap ciggies (we live in SW France). Only bar/restaurant open in town yesterday. Menu de Jour including dessert and wine at 12 euros including a fish plat but you get what you pay for. Server walked by with some great looking baguette sandwiches. Great local atmospere. Good place to sit with a Cuba Libre and soak up the local color while waiting for the train back to France. Ciggies at nearby Tabac for 53...
