Absolute horrific experience. Just walked in the door asked if we could have a table for 7. This is Sunday after lunch and it’s pouring down heavily so everyone wanted to sit inside. The waitress middle aged women I would say between 40-55 said if we wait until the other table finish we could sit there. We had our grandmother with us who had clutches and unfortunately the table was not all cleaned but because she was very tired she sat down to one of the chairs. The waitress then came and literally shouted at us saying can you not wait??? Then rudely and abruptly pulled the table cloth off the table with such a force that all rubbish went flying all across my grandmother and the floor. Every guest in the room were looking at us and she constantly made faces! I am surprised that this place still runs with someone as utterly rude as her!!! Absolute embarrassment for those who work in the gastronomy! Shame on people who are running this place and not realising this. She also made faces and shouted at her younger colleague all across the restaurant! I am ashamed and I don’t even own this place! Maybe it is hard to find good workers but her poor younger colleagues, us and the other guest certainly did not deserve a service and an attitude like that! It is not our fault they are short of staff or the restaurant is busy! Doesn’t matter how hungry we were after this even though it may have been nice food I wanted nothing to do with it. The portions were very big but the food tasted nice and I would’ve complemented the chef but I was too afraid she will bite my head off! When we ordered our coffee luckily her younger colleague came to the desk who was ever so pleasant we were not afraid to order. The one golden rule in gastronomy is that the guest are always right and even in this far away inside the country this is a shame on all of those who worked and studied to work within the industry. The rooms are excellent we had a balcony however the view is somewhat disappointing as it over looks what looked like a quarry works or something similar. It was no problem to the hotel as its in the distance but does kind spoil the view. bathroom was excellent as was the room very clean and kept to a high standard. It has its own restaurant and the food was very good and outstanding value. We had been given garaged parking for our bike and one of the staff was a biker himself and was very helpful and interesting to talk to. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the only let down we found was the breakfast which was pre packed muffins and other stuff and was an additional cost we passed it by.
