Restaurant Santallúcia — Restaurant in Roses

A missed opportunity - apartments climb up the hill from a nice beach and good restaurant. I have discovered that a lot of accomodation in the area is basic, and quite poor. This is perhaps ok for the area, but it is very, very basic compared to other areas in Catalonia. The apartment is simple and simply too small for 7 people (there are 7 beds in 3 bedrooms). Two of the bedrooms are pleasant with simple, stark decor but the third is too small for anything other than tiny children and has no Aircon. Bathroom small, fittings poor, drain blocked and no ventilation. The terrace is again too small for 6 or 7 people and bizarrely one sun bed and 4 chairs The parasol was broken and one of the wind out sunshades was split and useless. Kitchen crockery and cutlery old and basic, dishwasher ok, very old drip coffee machine, The lounge/dining area had old furniture and only seating for 4, one of the sofas was very uncomfortable. Mattresses were comfortable though and the Aircon worked very well in the areas covered. Wifi also good. Management should seriously consider an upgrade to all furniture and fittings to provide a wonderful set of apartments in a nice...

This was such a great find, I am very particular about tourist traps and usually hesitant when it comes to eating on the beach, but this restaurant delivered. It’s not cheap, yet, when you are planning on dining in such a location, you should not expect cheap eats. We ate there 3 times, and all the times the food was outstanding and the service one of the fastest ever. These people work so hard in such busy, hot conditions, yet they still managed a perfect service with zero expectation for tipping. Great view. Nice staff. But it has gotten SO expensive and the quality NOT better. The neighboring bar also belongs to this restaurant. If you want to pay 10 EUR for a handful of chips and some mashed up avocado, go for it. They serve beautiful looking dishes (the burger might be the one thing of value on the menu) but wearied staff and food. The fried calamari are sad; really small.
