Restaurante Cap Salou — Restaurant in Salou

We popped here to eat on the last day of our holiday. The slope outside is crazy, I'd hate to see a pram or wheelchair user try to get up it.

Upon arrival, we asked for a table for 5, and the waitress pointed around the corner. We went round and sat down. I can only assume it was the restaurant owner, but he came out, looked at us, started shaking his head, and gesticulating and walked off.

The young (early 20's) lad came over and took our drinks order, then we ordered our food. The drinks were spot on apart from they forgot one, which we had to ask for again. The food we ordered was correct. Apart from that, we asked for 2 portions of chips, which we didn't get (we weren't charged for either)

The manager was very vocal in his opinion on a table with 2 older women on, having an argument with them.

Went here with a group of 5 last year every night for a week for a full meal. Food was barely passable, and the prices were outrageous. The tables were absolutely disgusting as clearly all tables were wiped with the same dirty cloths. Tables were sticky and disgusting. Due to this we took a couple of place paper mats to cover over the table to stop our hands and arms from sticking to the disgusting messes on the table. The owner was that petty, rude and ignorant, that he took the place mats off of us, and put them back for other customers, even though they were already filthy off of the table. After all the money we had spent there in a week, he is one horrible and rude person, and clearly had no respect for us as his customers. Now that I will be returning to Salou soon, I will NEVER BE RETURNING to this restaurant. AVOID...

This is a fairly nice place. We visited twice. The seafood was very good. Kids enjoyed their pizzas and racks of ribs. I had a 'Big' steak and chips for 15 euro and TBH wondered where most of it was. Very small and disappointing. I had mussels another evening and they were lovely. Burger was also a bit measly. So could have been better. Loved getting a litre of beer for about £3.80 equivalent. Overall fan of 5 eating out works out much the same, just nicer grub than at home overall. Service was mainly good and we got into speaking some Spanish with staff, who had limited English, but that added to having a nice holiday and wasn't a chore at all. Once you have eaten though you tend to get forgotten...
