Mamma Mì Pizza e Tradizione Napoletana — Restaurant in San Bartolomé

We visited twice during our stay in Lanzarote as we love to visit pizzerias from top50pizza ranking. It is for sure the best pizzeria on the island.

The dough was thin with a thick crust. Right amount of liquid in the middle. Traditional margherita had a lot of mozzarella, margherita buffala had much stronger tomato sugo. We loved both. The second time, the dough was a bit too thick but still really good pizza.

We experienced one waiter to be rude the first time we visited, the second time only unpleasant. Luckily, the rest of the staff were super nice. A lot of Italian locals visiting but with a high ranking on Google maps, they should also expect tourists.

Would be great if they had a selection of...

Pizzas were quite sloppy, really wet and soggy in the middle. I could see they were going for the Naples style but it could have been better. I have had this style of pizza many times and they didn't quite get it right. It was a busy Saturday night and they squeezed us in without a reservation which we appreciated. Staff very friendly but obviously busy and it was hard to get their attention for additional drinks, the bill etc. We wanted to try the tiramisu but after trying for a while to get someone's attention we left and got an ice cream on the way home! MAMMA MÍA QUE DESASTRE. Así es como debería llamarse este lugar. Llegamos allí a cenar atraídos por su alta puntuación y la cantidad de buenas reseñas que tiene pero fue una catástrofe en todos los sentidos.

Tardaron casi 20 minutos únicamente en tomarnos la comanda (y eso que no dejaban de pasar camareros que no sé donde caben ni para qué les pagan), porque siempre parecían agobiados y miraban para otro lado. Una vez pedidas dos pizzas TARDARON MÁS DE UNA HORA en traerlas (después de requerirles en varias ocasiones), supongo que les dio tiempo a cultivar los tomates de la salsa y a sacrificar el cerdo de la mortadela. Da la casualidad de que justo veníamos de un viaje a Italia (que no hace falta tampoco irse tan lejos) y sabemos que no se tarda más de 3 minutos en hacer una pizza napolitana como Dios manda una vez que tienes la masa.

Además se cumplió uno de mis grandes temores: que una vez apremiados por nosotros, se dieran tanta prisa al darse cuenta de la demora que acabaran haciendo mal las pizzas. Así fue: la mía directamente no tenía la masa hecha, era básicamente un caldo acuoso de todos los ingredientes con trozos casi sin cortar de pimiento (a la foto me remito); mientras que la de mi pareja, que tenía mejor pinta, estaba mejor horneada pero se les había ido la mano con el aceite que también se hacía difícil tragar.

Al final me dicen que me invitan al agua (esa sí de los Apeninos). Wow, que pedazo de gesto que no les resarce ni un poco de la experiencia abominable que nos...
