Just to be aware. Taking a stroll along the front, we spotted Emmax, but all the tables were marked as reserved. We walked on, to look at the lovely beach around the bend. Upon our return, we were looking to stop for something to eat. Emmax had less 'reserved' tables, but only 3 people in. I gestured if we were ok to sit and was offered any table. We ordered 2 drinks to start with. As soon as i spoke, I got asked how we'd like to pay? I was a bit taken aback as we hadn't even got our drinks. She explained that a little while ago, some 'people' had drinks and then walked off without paying. So her boss said we had to pay first. So we did, but I was left feeling quite upset. We're 67 years old and quite respectable, having paid a lot of money to holiday here at a property along the front. Of course, we drank up and left. (Having paid) Incidentally, the single lady of another nationality, on another table, was waited on attentively and had not paid up front, as she was adding extras whilst we were drinking. Maybe we should be looking at other countries to spend our money if we're not welcome here. BTW, there's a fabulous vino and tapas bar not far away, where we were made most welcome. Read moreWe went here twice on our holiday to Lanzarote. We stumbled upon this place by accident and were really happy. There is no permanent menu and the menu is on a huge blackboard the staff brings to your table. I actually enjoyed this way to choose what i wanted to eat. They have good vegan options along woth the usual seafood and meat. You need to know what you want to drink as there is no drink menu. However, the food is excellent. Very fresh, tasty and authentic taste. Loved it! The staff is super friendly and helpful and super generous with the parmesan. The cookie which they serve with the coffee is homemade and is to die for. Sonia very kindly gave me a couple to take for my flight. Their desserts are also very very nice. We had the orange tiramisu and pannacotta. Both were excellent. Would...
Read moreHighly commendable restaurant. Visited this restaurant twice during our stay in Playa Honda. The food is fresh, local produce and has great flavour combinations. The menu changes daily, and has a nice variety. Although we didn't have any of the Vegan food, there are clearly labelled Vegan options, which is a rarity in Lanzarote. The restaurant also offers great dessert options too, which are equal to those we get in the UK, which is another rarity for Lanzarote.
On top of all the great food, the restaurant is in a pleasant location, overlooking the sea, and all the waiting staff are very friendly and attentive.
Anybody visiting this area of Playa Honda must visit...
