Angru Restaurante — Restaurant in San Pedro del Pinatar

The tapas were flavorful and the service was friendly, which initially gave us a positive impression. Unfortunately, the main course did not meet expectations at all. The steak was not cooked as requested. I asked for medium, but it was served completely raw. When I pointed this out, they said this is how they always prepare it and that it is up to the customer to ask if they want it cooked more. On top of that, it lacked flavor and clearly also quality. My partner’s fish dish was also a major disappointment. When we mentioned this to the waiter, our concerns were not taken seriously. He even referred to the table behind us as supposedly enjoying their meal, while we had actually overheard them saying they were also dissatisfied and leaving most of their dishes untouched.

What bothered us the most was the complete lack of an apology, neither from the chef nor from the manager. This gave the strong impression that customer satisfaction is secondary to financial interests. A missed opportunity, because with more attention and professionalism, this could have been a much more pleasant experience.

Las tapas estaban sabrosas y el servicio fue amable, lo que al principio nos dejó una impresión positiva. Lamentablemente, el plato principal no cumplió en absoluto con las expectativas. El filete no estaba cocinado como lo pedí. Yo pedí término medio, pero me lo sirvieron completamente crudo. Cuando lo señalé, me dijeron que siempre lo preparan de esa manera y que corresponde al cliente pedir que lo cocinen más. Además, carecía de sabor y claramente también de calidad. El plato de pescado de mi pareja fue igualmente una gran decepción. Cuando comentamos esto al camarero, nuestras observaciones no fueron tomadas en serio. Incluso mencionó que a la mesa detrás de nosotros supuestamente le había gustado, aunque en realidad los habíamos escuchado decir que también estaban descontentos y que dejaron la mayor parte de sus platos sin comer.

Lo que más nos molestó fue la total ausencia de disculpas, ni por parte del chef ni del responsable. Esto dio la clara impresión de que la satisfacción del cliente es secundaria frente al interés económico. Una oportunidad perdida, ya que con más atención y profesionalidad, la experiencia podría haber sido mucho...

Whilst on holiday in San Pedro del Pinatar my partner and I made our first visit to the Angru for dinner last evening and for sure it won’t be the last before we return to Scotland.

The service provided was very good (thanks Claudia) and the food we selected from the menu was of a good quality, well cooked and tasted really delicious. Full marks to the chef.

If you’re looking for something a little different here in San Pedro do give the Angru a try….

This restaurant was a wonderful find. We shared 3 dishes and each one was better than the last. The food was excellent and was done with a real expertise. The home made sauces were outstanding. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciate a good chef, who takes a pride in the food being offered. The waitresses were superb and we had fun translating between Spanish and English. We really hope this restaurant survives to allow others to appreciate this level of...
