Vista del Mar Lo Pagan — Restaurant in San Pedro del Pinatar

We stumbled across this little resort and wanted to love it. Unfortunately we went to the wrong restaurant and judging by the replies to the reviews I have read below, I am in no doubt that they will tell us that we are wrong.

Note that my reviews aim to be 5-star unless we are given a reason not to be. Here, we were given those reasons.

As you walk from the beach this restaurant is on a balcony overlooking the beach. The perfect location. As we went up the stairs the waitress offered us the perfect table on the balcony overlooking the beach. A lovely spot for dinner to watch the world go by.

It took a while to get a first drink but we were on holiday and it happens.

We ordered salmon and lasagne. The dishes arrived and I called the waitress back to the say that the salmon was hot on the outside but frozen/cold in the middle. The waitress dealt with it ok and our attitude was fairly relaxed, even though this is very risky and should not have happened. Plus, the dish is described on the menu as with a bernaise sauce, which is white/yellow. It had a light orange citrus sauce. The waitress tried to tell us that a bernaise sauce was orange. It is not.

I then tasted the béchamel sauce around the lasagne on the plate and it was cold. Again, I called the waitress back and she explained that the cold béchamel sauce constrasts the heat of the hot lasagne. I explained that in 50 years of eating this dish, I have never experienced that and I felt like it was a fob-off. I asked for it to cooked/heated. The dishes came back. The same ones but now cooked. Poor. Very poor.

Overall, I would not go back. A shame. Great location. Ok service, but stop trying to improvise answers to make up for the poor cooking....

Shopska - Bulgarian Salad delicious and generous portion. Good to share

Vista Del Mar Special Salad - great portion of seafood and tasty salad.

Balkan BBQ Platter - super delicious that you simply can’t resist. It’s grande portion, and we can’t even finish.

Hamburguesa - photo can’t deny the generous portion for every dish and even this burger. It comes with fries.

We've ordered agua, red & white wine for the drinks. And we are ending it with coffee.

Very spacious bar-restaurant, with a great view, definitely very clean, and following the instructions for COVID19 safety (good to take note). If you’re visiting or staying nearby the area, don’t miss out on having lunch, dinner, or even just for coffee or drinks in this place.

We have been frequent guests and enjoyed a lot of their specialities. This day we went and my wife asked for a tortilla without gluten. At first they said they didn't have but then changed that there was a tortilla with chips that was without gluten. When we got the food there were no chips and the tortilla was suspiciously like a Spanish one with gluten so my wife didn't dare eat it (but I ate half). When we asked the waiter he said he had made an error. Still we got the full bill and I said to the waiter it is customary to make a deduction when you do something wrong and you can't eat the food. "Ok" said the waiter rudely and just turned away, but still didn't do anything so we had to pay the full price. Sorry to say we won't...
