El Tinglado — Restaurant in Sant Feliu de Guíxols

We went there a couple of times for lunch. The food is great, the rice with seafood was very nice, the gazpacho as well.

However the service was not my favorite. At first the empty restaurant told us there were no space there at any time, we managed to negotiate a table outside in a sun. When leaving after lunch, the restaurant inside with an airco remained pretty empty, there were 2 tables taken. It took quite a while to pay the bill. The communication style might seem rude, but please keep in mind the staff does not speak English very well so please be mindful about it and try to be patient in explaining...

Comparto con la gente que ha hecho reseñas positivas referente al edificio donde está ubicado, pero comparto con la gente que ha hecho reseñas negativas al encargado del restaurante, el Sr Jordi, que de señor solo tiene el nombre porque nos ha tratado como a las ratas. Resulta que yo reservé por email a las 14:30h para comer hoy Domingo, porque por teléfono era imposible contactar con ellos. Me confirmaron la reserva por el mismo medio. Viendo que no llegaríamos a las 14:30h, llamé a las 13h para advertirles que llegaríamos sobre las 15h y una chica me.dijo que no había ningun problema. Sobre las 15h me llama este tal Sr Jordi para decirme si estábamos llegando ya y le dije q en 15 minutos llegábamos de la vía verde y me respondió de manera insolente y de malas maneras que a las 15:30h cerraban la cocina así que ya podía correr...Cuando llegamos me recriminó que la reserva la teníamos a las 14h y yo le dije que tenía el email donde podía comprobar que era a las 14:30h y q yo había llamado para cambiarla a las 15h. Me respondió como un mao educado diciéndome que eso no era así...que poca vergüenza que un encargado de un restaurante se encare de manera barriobajera con un cliente, que ni sabe quién soy ni tengo la culpa de su mala.leche. Como se nota que solo están por la clientela fija y que la nueva, que también gastamos y que podemos dar una buena publicidad, les sobra. A este tal Jordi le tendrían que dar un par de lecciones de educación y de humildad y que ojalá le vaya bien el negocio porque, si es por mi...

Came here at the end of a bike ride, at the recommendation of our bike tour company. Had a decent lunch with a nice waitress. Potatas bravas, calamari, and beer were fine, but pretty pricy and nothing to write home about. At the end of our meal, the manager asked us to move our bikes because they were doing lunch service. We didn’t appreciate that. The bikes weren’t in anyone’s way (the restaurant was nearly empty) and there was no convenient and safe place to put the bikes outside...
