Not sure why all the past bad reviews. We came for the first time very hungry after visiting Anaga park and had a great experience. We came to Tenerife on a 2 week vacation. Stayed in the south part of the island Puerto de Santiago and then came and stayed up north near El Caletón. Yes we are tourists and yes we are from the US states. We speak very little Spanish and felt very welcome. No one was rude to us and the service was good. Our menus were brought out right away and the food arrived less than 15 minutes after we ordered. It was 4:00 pm when we arrived and the place was 75% occupied. Pretty packed for a Tuesday afternoon. We ordered the fish for 2 special. During the 2 weeks here in Tenerife we visited tons of restaurants (50+) and Casa Pepe's had THE best canarian potatoes. All the other restaurants we tried, the potatoes were very large and oversized and did not compare to Pepe's. The fish was fresh and tasty. Cooked to perfection. The shrimp and salad was very good. As foodies ourselves, we had no complaints. I honestly do not feel like this place is a tourist trap. Maybe some of these bad reviews are unwarranted. Maybe the workers are stressed at times of the rude tourists that come there with disrespect. We live in Florida in a MAJOR tourist spot and we see our fair share of rude foreigners and people that come to our state but we felt at home and very welcome at Casa Pepe's. Very authentic food for the price and the location has some of the most beautiful views on the island.

Terrible coffee, the cheapest and with a horribly bitter aftertaste. Then we were served a salad that was foisted on us. The vegetables are completely tasteless and all that tastelessness was covered in vinegar. We ordered the fish and grilled chicken and baked potatoes. The potatoes were too salty; the chicken plate had more fries on it than the chicken itself (the chicken was dry, the fries tasteless and watery); the fish was too greasy and covered in even more grease. There was a deep fried fly on the fish as a gift. It's been a long time since I've been to an establishment where every item ordered is just awful. You can see that the restaurant is happy with its location, which is a trap for tourists.

An amazing seaside restaurant with the best food I’ve had in Tenerife! If I could gove it 6 stars, I would. We had the chef’s recommendation of tuna salad, shrimp and grilled ctach of the day + potatoes boiled in seawater and it was well worth the queueing. Nice, light & the best lunch ever! They also serve french fries for kids if you ask. Service may seem chaotic, but one server takes order for food, the other for drinks and the service is fast - we got our lunch in 10mins after being seated. Sangria was lovely. We immensely enjoyed and my in-laws keep coming back here despite the car trek over the mountains. Definitely worth the visit if you end up in Takanana.

Would not recommend for tourists. I came to the table, alone, and the waiter gave me the impression that he wanted to go home. I asked about the menu and he was like"Aah one person..." and reluctantly agreed with an all telling facial expression. Also he gestured and tried to get me into taking the fish and a salad, I could even take a close look to the menu. Then they brought me a big water bottle, which i did not explicitly order. Gave me the feeling they really want my money. Meanwhile the table behind me they charged 5 euros too much from some tourists. That gave me another bad feeling. Salad came, was all fresh but it less greens and more other stuff which is not what I would call a salad but anyways. While I was eating the salad they began to tidy up the place. It was nowhere near their closing time. The fish was good, and not too small. I was happy with the fish. But the price was confirming my suspicion, I paid 6 Euros for the salad and a whopping 12 for the fish, which was only fish, without any side dish except the bread they always offer and charge extra on the whole island. Be careful when you go there and check your bill at the end! Glance into the menu first, and remember the price! English is not my native language but i hope its fully...
