Restaurant Royalty — Restaurant in Santa Eulària des Riu

I can only share our honest experience with you . We called at the restaurant early afternoon to enquire about prices as they were not shown on the board outside. A very nice helpful lady informed us that the restaurant opened at seven that night and food was available from 7.30 . She told us there was a special on that night , a large piece of steak roughly 30cm long and thick with a choice of sauces and veg.for only €29.99 for two So such a bargain we couldn’t resist . We arrived at 7 that night to get a good table we were the only ones in the restaurant at that time . The same waitress came to greet us rubbing our hands we have come for the steak you told us about . She then said “oh a man has just finished his and he ate it all but it was very small “ well he must have been invisible because we were still the only ones in . She then said if you want a steak it is €40 so I asked the weight and was told it was 2.5 kilo that’s five and a half pounds .i knew straight away this was a lie. Another waitress came over after the other one disappeared,we asked about the 2.5 kilo steak she replied that they do not sell any steak of that weight or price . She did say you can have a t bone steak for €40 each . In the end we gave up we had been promised a special deal to get us in but which didn’t exist . Very disappointed with The dishonesty. Will...

Based on food quality then the rating should be a 5, but attention to detail could have been better. On arriving we arranged a 2 person table with a 4 person table to accommodate our party of 5 (albeit no staff around at time). The elderly waitress seemed shocked when she appeared and seemed confused at the party only being 5 and not 6. On producing table place settings then we were offered water - when I would have expected to be asked about 'drinks'. After very little time to peruse the food menu, and having to ask for a Wine list, we asked for Bread & Aoli to start. It took several reassurances to the waitress that we would order main courses in due time (although on ordering a bottle of House White the waitress then decided to try and advise on which wine we might like - a bit like after the horse had bolted!). On arrival of bread & aoli we then ordered main courses - only to receive another look of confusion when we declined to order starters. We had dinner tonight at Restaurant Royalty. Apart from the long wait — which was fine — I was served fish with potatoes and vegetables that were literally swimming in liquid. The fish itself was pleasant, but the rest was so wet, soggy, and greasy that it was inedible.

I mentioned this to the waiter, who simply replied “okay.” There was no further response or follow-up. In the end, I received the full bill, and when I asked whether I was really expected to pay the normal amount, the waiter said “yes,” added a quick “sorry,” and walked away.

At the very least, a sincere apology or a small alternative dish would have been appropriate, given that I could not eat any of the food apart from the fish. To me, this is...
