Grand Cafe Jackies — Restaurant in Santa Pola

I was really disappointed in the service and working in the service industry myself i understand its not always easy to attain to clients and their wishes but the minimum is some attention and consideration which i felt we didn’t receive from the time we entered the venue. We were completely ignored and weren’t directed by the host to a table and had to work hard to figure out who to address ourselves to, in order to receive a table and once we did we sat and we didn’t receive a menu for 10 minutes. I understand the server came on a last minute shift and was a bit overwhelmed, however the host seemed to give a lot of attention to other older or retired clients that seem to be recurring guests instead if us. aside from that the food wasn’t very special for the high prices. I recommend the sweet potato fries which were good but we also had octopus skewers that were hardly cooked and tasted not good and there were a few pieces of octopus with mashed potatoes for a high price and simple composition. I’m also disappointed because I specifically asked the server what is in the soup of the day to make sure it was diary-free and plant-based (carrott soup) and he seemed rather reluctant to want to answer but finally suggested to go check with the cook, he did, came back and told me it was a carrot orange flavour soup which for me was great. When I received the soup i saw some white cream on top and already thought it was diary cream and i asked the server and he said it had no lactose but that it was cream. I looked at him in disbelief as i had just told him i specifically wanted no dairy in it , i never mentioned i was lactose intolerant, i just said i did not want any dairy in my food because of allergic reaction, but i still can not eat diary even without lactose. Its my personal dietary restriction , which was completely disregarded and brushed off as “only being decoration on top” and i wanted to return it , but didnt feel the courage to because i had been brushed off like this. This is really not cool because when i work as a waitress i try to attain as much to the clients wish as possible to make them as comfortable as possible. i didn’t feel the same from this service. the atmosphere of the venue itself is nice and cosy but i wouldn’t recommend this place or come back here...

We’ve visited Grand Cafe Jackies several times now, whether to watch football, play a game of chess, or just enjoy a relaxed drink. It’s become one of our favorite local spots for a laid-back and enjoyable time.

The steak here is absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. It’s definitely a good steak we’ve had around.

What really makes the place special is the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner is incredibly friendly and always makes you feel right at home. Plus, the waiter from America is super cool (WE MISS HIM), adding a great vibe to the place with his friendly and attentive service.

Whether you’re coming for a casual evening with friends, a fun game of chess, or just to enjoy good food and drinks, Grand Cafe Jackies is the perfect choice. We always leave happy and looking forward to our next visit.

Ayer fue un muy mal día para la gente de este local.

No supieron poner el aire acondicionado aún estando lleno por la final de la Supercopa de Europa.

Tampoco superior poner el sonido del fútbol por los altavoces tal y como me aseguró tres veces el camarero al ir con anterioridad para reservar.

Tampoco supieron poner el idioma en español...

Tampoco supieron adelantarse a la situación y tener más personal en la cocina dónde únicamente había una persona.

Al pedir mi cena , hasta 4 veces porque claramente me decían que si pero yo veía que no la habían comandado, me respondía el señor inglés de detrás de la barra que tardaría una hora, le dije que si pero que lo encargarse de una vez, que si no tardaría más, se lo dije otras tres veces al camarero de sala, 4 veces en total...

Para finalmente pedir mi cuenta SIN CENAR y con una sorprendente falta de vergüenza entregarme mi cuenta con mis tres TANQUES DE CERVEZA, sin un solo aperitivo, y no aparecer ni por casualidad mi cena, que por suerte no estaba comandada a cocina y por eso tampoco venía cobrada.

Dadas las circunstancias la valoración sería cero estrellas, Pero cero absoluto.

Pero entendiendo las circunstancias de ayer, les concedo 3 estrellas, para volver otro día con ninguna fé en que la situación mejore.

Sólo y únicamente pensando que habrá muchísima menos gente y el único mínimamente espabilao del local ,(el cocinero) tenga la suerte, de que le llegue la comanda y yo tenga la suerte de poder probar la comida.

Por desgracia para ellos, escribo esta reseña SABIENDO QUE ESTO NO SUCEDIERA.

PUES EL AÑO QUE VIENE YA NO ESTARÁN AHÍ.

NADIE, ABSOLUTAMENTE NADIE SOBREVIVE A ESTÁ LAMENTABLE ORGANIZACIÓN.

SEÑORES EN HOSTELERÍA NO SIRVE SOLO CON SER O INTERNAR SER AGRADABLE.

HACE FALTA SER ESPABILADO, TRABAJADOR Y TENER PERSONAL.

Y JAMÁS, JAMÁS JAMÁS MENTIR AL CLIENTE.

AYER ME LLEVE 3 MENTIRAS

La que más me dolió fue que antes de pedir nada, pregunté al camarero de sala A QUE HORA CERRABA la cocina. Y me respondió que hasta la hora del cierre del local estaba la cocina abierta.

Pues bien MENTIRA, el cocinero se puso a limitar la cocina y ahí no había ninguna comanda nueva que se pudiese pedir...
