Querida Mar — Restaurant in Santander

Enjoyed a lovely evening meal this evening. The prawn starter was so fresh and presented beautifully. For main we had the fish which was like sword fish, cooked to perfection. Slightly pink in the middle and very tender. Local cheeses to finish which were served at room temperature (always a good sign). Fresh warm bread kept on coming throughout the meal. Coffee to finish and a lovely glass of wine with the meal. Such good value. We thought they had forgotten to add the wine to the bill and only found out it was included when I questioned this. 26 Euros per head which was excellent for the quality of the food. Very nice waitress who spoke great English. We're not sure why the reviews are not better. From our experience it was superb, the only negative was that the atmosphere had something missing. Probably because the lighting was a bit bright....

The place was practically empty when we arrived so I don't know why they took us to a lousy table at first, as if to hide us. But then when we asked to be seated somewhere else, they kindly changed our seating arrangements and sat us at one of the loveliest tables in the place. We were celebrating my mom's 88th birthday, she should deserve the best. As for the food, everything was scrumptious, the tuna may have seemed a bit salty, but not a bite was left on out plates. Lugar idílico con vistas preciosas ideal para desayunar y ver la paz de la mañana Santanderina junto al mar. Lugar idílico pero no el restaurante ya que el servicio fué nefasto. Comida de calidad media/alta. A un precio normal dada la exclusividad de ubicación. Llegamos y nos dice que nos sentemos donde queramos bien. Escogemos una mesa con cubiertos tazas y platos aún por limpiar y recoger algo que puede ser normal y no les haya dado tiempo a recoger... aunque solo había dos mesas con gente se puede entender. Pedimos 4 desayunos: 4 cafés un pincho de tortilla, un croissant de chocolate y otro vegetal y una tostada con tomate y jamón. Mientras la mesa sigue sucia. Lo normal creo que es recoger y limpiar cuando tomas nota. Para tomar nota se tardó 2 minutos, 4 desayunos 2 minutos en anotar? (Algo hay que repasar en el sistema) Igual era fallo o lentitud de la PDA.... No lo sé... Bueno sin más eso ... La mesa seguía sucia... Al rato la recogieron pero no limpiaron habiendo restos líquidos en la mesa y acto seguido traen los cafés. Pasados unos minutos trajeron el pincho de tortilla correcto con muy buena pinta y sabroso varios minutos más tarde trajeron la tostada solo de tomate, la cual hubo que devolver porque faltaba el jamón y varios minutos mas tarde un croissant sin chocolate... El cual también pedimos cambiar entre los cafés y el croissant fácilmente pasaron 10 minutos y el croissant vegetal dado que lo traían por fascículos espere un poco pero jamás llegó.... Algo que dado que solo había dos mesas ... Debería de tardarse en tomar nota no sé ¿30segundos? Y en cortar un pincho de tortilla y poner en un plato y poner dos croissant 🥐 en un plato ¿cuanto? ¿30s 1m? En definitiva... Lugar idílico pero mal servicio, mal sistema, o mal ejecutado.... No sé donde estará el...
