If you are a solo pilgrim, you may want to look elsewhere. This review is about the service as I did not get a chance to try the food. I walked in around 7:00 pm. Place was fairly empty. I was told that being solo, they did not want to give me their “big” tables which can accommodate 4 persons. That is absolutely understandable if the place was busy, but it was empty with many tables available. Reservations could not have been the reason, since I was asked if I had other ppl joining me, so they could give me a table. Server told me that eating at the bar is an option which I accepted. She slammed the menu on the bar at pointed it to me. Although a big bar, there were only two bar stools, both occupied. I asked the bartender if there were other bar stools and he said no! So I guess eating dinner standing up at the bar is what they had in mind. I walked out and went to have dinner at a neighboring restaurant. What a marked difference from my every interaction along the Camino since I started in St Jean. Whether I was by myself or with other pilgrims, every place I have been, people have been nothing but kind, wonderful and accommodating,...
Read moreTerrible service had. I was asked what I would like to drink and waited over 30 minutes before asking the waiter when would my drink arrive. It took approximately 45 minutes before it arrived and was asked what I would like to eat. He knew I was waiting to be served but was too interested in serving others. You would naturally think that he would serve me quickly so I could free up a table for other customers. This would be the worst service I have had on the Camino and probably in my entire life. Not even an acknowledgement that he would get to me. A person came and sat at the next table and got her food and drink before me. He probably thought I would go elsewhere but I had no intention of going but wanted to see how long it would all take. It ended being an unpleasant experience and one that I will not forget on my...
Read moreI recently dined at Meson Roberto with my family of three. While the food was good, the overall experience was overshadowed by the poor service. Our waitress seemed to be having a rough day and was notably rude, which made us feel unwelcome from the start. We felt rushed to place our order, even though the restaurant was almost empty at the time.
It’s unfortunate because the food really was enjoyable, but the lack of warmth and hospitality took away from the experience. Dining out is not just about the meal; it’s about feeling welcomed and valued, and that was missing here. I hope Meson Roberto addresses these service issues because the food alone isn’t enough to make us...
