Auba Cafè — Restaurant in ses Salines

I think it really depends on what you get and when you go. With the 4.5 stars it had at the time we went, we definitely had other expectations though.

Service was okay but nothing special. Didn't feel unwelcome but not particularly welcome as we now from other restaurants.

Food was 50/50 as well. I ordered the ham and cheese plate and got bread with ham and cheese instead. Which by itself would have been fine by me. BUT besides it being very very boring bread it was so hard I could hardly chew it and as a 36 year old kind of head the feeling I might have to go see a dentist if I keep trying to chew the crust. Which as you can imagine wasn't the nicest of feelings while trying to enjoy food.

Then there's just some little things that made me wonder how 4,5 stars came to happen: the was a flap of bird shit on one page I the menu that was exhibited even though it was mostly empty we didn't experience any "nice" service during the meal, like checking if everything was all right of it we needed anything (we did need water) due to its location at a crossroad the wind from the sea blows through in the evening to a point where it gets chilly even mid June

All in all it was okay (besides my bread). But nothing more and we experienced much better in Sant Jordi and all...

🇫🇷 Nous sommes allés chez Auba sans réservation, et malgré l’affluence, le personnel nous a accueillis avec chaleur et a tout mis en œuvre pour nous trouver une table – ce que nous avons beaucoup apprécié ! (Petit conseil : pensez à réserver en haute saison, le lieu est très prisé.)

Le service a été irréprochable : une équipe souriante, attentionnée, une prise de commande rapide et un enchaînement fluide des plats. Mention spéciale à la sangria blanche, absolument délicieuse : bien fraîche, parfumée, équilibrée.

Nous avons opté pour un assortiment de tapas à partager (2 adultes + 1 enfant), et chaque plat était un vrai plaisir : une cuisine fine, savoureuse, légère, maîtrisée… Nous sommes ressortis ravis, avec le sentiment d’avoir bien mangé, sans excès ni lourdeur. Les prix sont parfaitement en accord avec la qualité proposée.

En tant que grande amatrice de bonne cuisine et très exigeante sur ce point, je peux dire que Auba a été une magnifique découverte. Nous recommandons ce restaurant sans hésitation !

🇪🇸 Fuimos al restaurante Auba sin reserva y, a pesar de la gran afluencia, el personal nos recibió con mucha amabilidad y rápidamente hizo todo lo posible para encontrarnos una mesa (¡un consejo: en temporada alta es mejor reservar con antelación porque es muy solicitado!).

El servicio fue impecable: el equipo fue amable, sonriente, atento, con una toma de pedidos y un ritmo de servicio muy ágiles. Destacamos especialmente la sangría blanca, deliciosa, muy fresca y llena de sabor.

Elegimos varios tapas para compartir (2 adultos y 1 niño), y cada plato fue una auténtica delicia: cocina fina, sabrosa, ligera y perfectamente equilibrada. Salimos del restaurante con la agradable sensación de haber comido muy bien, sin sentirnos pesados. La relación calidad-precio es excelente.

Como persona muy exigente en temas de gastronomía, puedo decir que Auba ha sido un verdadero hallazgo....

I love this restaurant❤️…the staff are professional and friendly, and considering is in the post the spot is pretty calm. the food is gorgeous and the sea front location is great for lunch, dinner but also for an early evening cocktail on the way home from the beach😎!!…my favourite dishes are, croquetas, calamar a la andaluza and the salads for starter…my favourite mains are grilled calamar with tumbet…(super fresh local squid) and the pulpo is absolutely gorgeous too!!! My husband loves their tumbet with fried eggs, and he reckons the chips are the best he has ever had!!in the busy months...
