Bar Cafeteria Es Dolç — Restaurant in ses Salines

Our 9 year old wanted a smoothie so we stopped here for one, waiter was friendly and looked like a good place for a smoothie. Ordered the "peach paradise". Totally bland and watery. Brought it up to the bar and politely explained our child didn't like it because it didn't have much flavour, I asked if we could change to a different one, next thing from the back of the room an old lady starts shouting up to the bar staff that they shouldn't give us another one, the staff relay these messages to me. I ask if at least some other fruit could be added to give it some more flavour, again the old lady shouts across and the staff tell me that's not possible because the fruit is pre packed in portions and can't be divided. Eventually the old lady shouts something about "zumo naranja", so the staff convey the message to me that they can add some orange juice if I want. Realising this is the best I'm going to get I agree, and they add a bit of orange juice to the smoothie, which gives it some flavour at least. So the elderly owner clearly doesn't pride herself on customer satisfaction. For €7 per smoothie I'd expect a bit more flavour, and better customer service. We have been guests at Café Es Dolc for many years. There is always a cool breeze blowing from the sea and the view invites you to dream with a cool drink or a cup of coffee. It inevitably creates a holiday mood. The food, drinks and ice cream are delicious, not only after a day at the beach. The service is very good and the staff very friendly. I absolutely love this place, the staff is always welcoming and friendly even during the busy summer months. The manager Patricia runs the place really well and it reflects on how nice everyone is, the cafe con leche is delicious and the breakfast fantastic…the view of the sea beautiful❤️ , this is my 9th year coming to Colònia Sant Jordi and Es Dolç is always my first stop…I always look forward coming back to this place,thank you for contributing to my relaxing holiday...
