Restaurante Marisol — Restaurant in ses Salines

Somebody did recommend this restaurant to us. We rented a car so we were able to drive anywhere on the island, but we chose this restaurant and I am glad we did !

The food was delicious and perfect, we had Seafood Paella which came on a big “pan” and they managed to do the show in front of us. I am actually a bit sad tomorrow I have to go home and I cannot go again to try something else.

As a starter, we had fish croquettes which were fabulous and Marinara Mussels. Unbelievable, the food was so good. We did not have to wait for too long. We booked a table earlier in the day for 7pm and we were late 20mins and they kept the table for us that long without knowing we were about to be late. 5/5 stars. All the staff very professional and friendly. All the food seen around us looked so fresh and nice, instantly wet mouth everywhere you looked. They did not put the tips already on the bill, and you might have experienced that thing in other places just like me, for example one posh restaurant in Prague, Czech Republic, they put themselves 25% tips on the bill. Here in Marisol, all perfect. I tipped actually double because of the great atmosphere, food and service.

Cannot recommend it highly than this. Do not mind the other few bad comments, I have seen them as well and I was a bit worried but I decided so write this to have a fresh review into their portfolio.

We were looking for a place to have seafood prepared “simply” - sepia a la plancha was our objective. Then, we found Marisol, we were stunned by their great seats next to the sea but, alas, we wanted to have dinner within just 2 hrs. “No problem!”, they replied. So we came back, and sat literally in front of the beach. But that was not all - this is where the good starts. We ordered the sepia (cuttlefish) and it was amazing. We had the steamed mussels, they were great. We wanted to have something “green”, so we go the padrón peppers - delicious! This would have given them a 4-star review, easily… and the elusive 5th came (with a bang!) for the outstanding service. Friendly, welcoming, funny. We will come...

Such a disappointing experience. We honeymooned in the area 15 years ago and wanted to bring our children back to experience the once delicious food that we had had at this restaurant. Sadly that was not the case. My husbands sole was undercooked. My seafood platter was a combination of extremely overcooked and some undercooked with a selection of seafood that clearly wasn’t fresh and my son’s pizza undercooked. Leaving one dish out of four which was mussels edible. The staff were very accommodating and deducted these dishes from our bill but even so, sorry guys you need to do better.
