Worth the wait, after passing several times and asking locals where to go for a good steak, majority pointed out The Vu. So glad we called here for our evening meal ( i earn it after 60km bike ride) after walking of the street and greeted so well by Kahlid & the rest of the team, we ordered drinks mine just a pint but the wife's Strawberry daiquiri she loved it. No messing we ordered mains, wife ordered tagliatelle and my T-Bone steak (was cooked on a charcoal grill on view by all customers & passing punters) med/rare & peppercorn sauce, i just drizzled over enough 😋 very reasonably priced we left having had a fab experience. would we go back when in Lanzarote of course we would, until next time ( looking already to return in the new year) thanks Team see you soon Neil & Jane 🍺🍸

Had a really enjoyable meal there, came out with small bowls of tasty complimentary soup while we waited for our starters of garlic prawns & barbeque chicken wings. We both had sirloin steak for our mains with salad & chips, my steak with a lovely mushrooms sauce & wifey had peppercorn sauce. We were too full for dessert so I had a beer and wifey a strawberry daiquiri, very nice, upon asking for the bill they offered us a free drink, we both rounded off the night with our complimentary brandies, highly recommend for food and friendly staff, even the chef came and chatted with us. Will be back for sure

Dinner with Cockroach. We ate at the restaurant on Nov-19. The food wasn’t great. The grill plate meats were very fatty. The lamb chop only little pieces ediable, otherwise just fat. The tartar sauce for fish n chips didn’t fill half the little cup it came in. Instead of the advertised coal slaw, they served just peas. The table next to us never got their starts served. The server brought the foods siltent without any "enjoy your food". At the very end, we noticed a cockroach crawling over the table. Most disapointing dinner im a week at Puerto Del Carmen

Went down on the 3rd of December with my partner as we liked the look of the atmosphere however we was soon to be disappointed…

To start with they brought out a complimentary soup which we soon learned was just to try a sugar coat the disaster to come. They just gave us the soup without informing us what it was or what is in it which is a serious health concern as speaking as someone with allergies this could be life threatening so I simply couldn’t eat it.

I ordered the stake surf and turf, I ordered the stake medium rare but it was easily cooked well done. I had to cut half the stake off as it was either fat or weird bubbles that look as if they are abysses. Not only this it tasted like fuel. The prawns was another problem, they had a Wierd sandy texture and a slightly sour taste and it wasn’t until I inspected the final prawn that I noticed the digestive track had not been taken out and still had poo which I confirmed by pulling out the digestive track myself and wiping it on a napkin and without my input my partner also identified what it was which confirmed my superstitions. And this meal alone was nearly €20 which is absurd for the quality.

My partner ordered a regular burger which takes more skill to get wrong than to get right. The bun was soggy and stale… the meat was still red in the centre which is poor and cause major health issues.

Above where the chef was cooking the meat where I assume is the ventilation, it is just smothered in Greece and by the looks of it it hasn’t been cleaned in months and could easily drop onto the food. On this grill where they cook the stakes they will put the veg, the cooked meat and the raw meat all next to each other which is a big no for many health and life style choices. I could see my raw stake was touching someone else’s already cooked one. The cook would lift up the grill and prod at the coal which I could see the embers of the fire going everywhere and even attaching to the food above.

We decided to look at the reviews while we was there and seeing the negative reviews and the way the supposed owner responds to them we decided we couldn’t be bothered with the confrontation as we didn’t want it to ruin the end of our holiday.

We had to ask for the bill 3 times and the manager kept looking at us dirty and kept passing it off to different staff to give to us and when they finally passed us the bill we asked to pay by card and it took them a further 10 minuets to bring the card machine as the waiter decided to do other things and act busy even though the restaurant wasn’t even half full. To put that in perspective the food only took 10 minuets to go from being ordered to on our table which is alarming but took the bill half hour to get to us and be paid.

Entirely unacceptable

Just some advice if your eating in the day there is a lovely brunch spot just up the hill that is a 10/10 and if you want to adventure further down there’s a brilliant bar that serves amazing food called blue bells that are both cheaper, have better staff and the...

Only reason I’m giving it 1 star is because I can’t give it 0. First of all they bring some weird soup out that’s complementary don’t tell you what it is or what’s in it, taking no regard for people with allergies which my partner has. We got there at around 7pm and got told that the pizzas had stopped when the person behind me had just had a pizza bought out, no where does it say they stop serving pizzas at a certain time. My partner had the surf and turf steak and I had a cheeseburger. The food come out awfully quick in about 10/15 mins and from the way it tasted I’m not surprised it come out so quick.

My burger bun was soggy on the bottom but also somehow stale? Don’t know how that happened and then the burger its self wasnt cooked through and was pink. On to the steak, it was really tough and dry and the he had to cut most of it off because it looked all like clear and like there was some sort abyss inside the meat and the shrimp still had the digestive track inside and he didn’t realise till he had ate 3 of them.

Then it come to getting the bill and we had to ask twice because they were just running around trying to do everything but come near us. Then the woman asked if had it yet and we said no to which she went behind the bar and started pulling a pint and the went to come and bring us the bill but instead gave it to one of the men to bring it us instead. Before he even waked off we said we wanted to pay by card and it took a further 10 minutes to bring us the card machine.

It felt like the people that worked there didn’t want to help us or serve us as they were being very chatty and welcoming with everyone else but just not us.

Don’t reccommend this place at all which is disappointing considering the other experience people have had we thought it would a lovely end to our holiday but sadly not. It would be understandable if the place was busy and they didn’t get round to bringing us the bill but they weren’t...

I'll keep it simple - there are FAR FAR better options out there ! Stopped by for breakfast as the reviews were glowing. Sadly our experience was anything but - an inedible "Vu breakfast" with an avocado that must have been weeks old (brown, dry and as hard as a rock) and a "full English" which had half the amount shown on the menu but that was just as well as the grease it was swimming in was awful and the quality of the ingredients severely lacking. I will say the hash browns were good though

Meals both sent back and feedback given to the waiter (the young lad suddenly couldn't speak English, interesting as he didn't struggle when we first got there) and then the attitudes changed ! They didn't like the feedback, and despite taking one breakfast off the bill (thank you for recognising that) the rest remained charged even though it went back 80% uneaten. Kept waiting for the bill and to pay, monies exchanged hands without a single word - no apology or thanks for visiting, nothing but sullen sulky faces. Shameful response to a complaint which was clearly explained and demonstrated

There's tons of places here, we've had lovely meals everywhere else so chalking this one up to experience sadly. Maybe we were just unlucky, as otherwise I can't explain all the many great reviews

Advice - go elsewhere, anywhere else !

In response to the owners reply : we've had an absolutely lovely holiday, thank you. I decided not to list every thing that was wrong with our experience as the review would have been too long. No hate, simply facts on what happened so people are aware and can make an informed decision

Good luck with the business, hope it...
