Las Hijas del Máiz — Restaurant in Tarragona

I don't want to be too critical as you can see they are working as best they can, but we were a little disappointed and surprised by their high rating. Our food was prepared by microwave right in front of us. We could literally see them doing it. For a restaurant called "Club Wingz" we thought the wings would be something special as it seems to be what they've based their whole brand on, but they were honestly very average, the portion was small, the sauce kind of bland and they were served with really uncooked fries. As far as we could see they just had a small air fryer and a microwave to prepare the food, and maybe some other warming device. It's extremely basic and not worth the money, but we liked the service and as I said, I could see they were working as best they could with what little facilities they had. Unfortunately I can't recommend it and found the 4.7 rating to be extremely misleading. The food quality was 3 stars if I'm being extremely generous. In reality it was probably closer to 2. It's...

Extremely nice, attentive, (for example even if something is served and possibly not quite correct immediately offers to correct - without asking!). Friendly owners and of course amazing tacos best I ever had so far in Tarragona, maybe even in Europe. Not too loud, good air conditioning. I will get many more tacos...

Also, I forgot my bag, came back the other day and they took good...

Experiencia agridulce, la comida si es cierto que estaba muy buena a pesar de no parar de escuchar el microondas de la cocina, que nos indujo a confusión de si era precalentada o verdaderamente la preparaban en el momento con indican en carta.

También nos sorprendió la escasez de personal, ya que la misma chica que nos atendió, era la única también en cocina. Tuvimos suerte ya que entramos al local pronto, no nos imaginamos si hubiesemos entrado con el restaurante lleno.

La relación calidad/precio es indudable, pero cantidad/precio cambia el asunto... Un plato de 10 totopos con algo de carne, cebolla y aguacate por muy casero que sea, 16 pavos, duelen. Si has visitado la ciudad por más de 2 horas después de hacer un recorrido por todos los monumentos os aseguro que vais a salir con hambre, siempre y cuando quieras comer por menos de 30€ por persona.

Tampoco nos llamó la atención probar sus alitas por su elevado precio, 3 o 4 alitas por 12€, es un poco excesivo.

Como opinión propia, si quereis probar buena comida mexicana en un buen ambiente, probad sin dudarlo, pero si vais con el presupuesto justo, buscaría otras...
