Cafetería Majocaya — Restaurant in Teror

Dieses kleine Lokal, im Herzen der Stadt Teror, bot alles was ich mir an diesem lauen Abend nur wünschen konnte. Ich verließ dieses Lokal satt und glücklich und mein Freund hat hier viel über die typisch kanarische Küche gelernt. Mit günstigen Preisen, guten Bewertungen und kaltem Bier lockte uns die Cafeteria Majocaya am Abend zu sich. Die Kellner waren entspannt und sehr freundlich, halfen uns bei der Auswahl und, als ein kleiner Fehler passierte, den ich hier nicht weiter erwähnenswert finde, brachten sie uns noch eine Kleinigkeit aufs Haus. Als Spanierin, die in Deutschland lebt, hatte ich gehofft, genau diese Mentalität meinem Freund ans Herz legen zu können. Und siehe da: Auch er strahlte von ganzem Herzen, als wir das Geschäft verließen. Wir hatten die frittierten Champignons auf Baconsauce, die Mojokartoffeln, Pimientos de Padron, die Käseauswahl, den frittierten Käse und die Kroquettenauswahl. Wir hatten aber auch wirklich einen riesigen Hunger und waren pappsatt danach, bestellt dementsprechend lieber nach als zu viel auf einmal :) Wir können dieses Lokal zu 100% weiterempfehlen!

This little place, in the heart of the town of Teror, offered everything I could wish for on this evening. I left this place full and happy and my friend learned a lot about typical Canarian cuisine here. With cheap prices, good reviews and cold beer, the Cafeteria Majocaya lured us in. The waiters were relaxed and very friendly, helped us to choose and, when a small mistake happened, that I don't think is worth mentioning here, they brought us a little shot on the house. As a Spaniard living in Germany, I was hoping my boyfriend would love this mentality too. Look and behold: he too was beaming with all his heart when we left the cafeteria. We had the fried mushrooms on bacon sauce, the mojo potatoes, pimientos de padron, the cheese selection, the fried cheese and the croquette selection. But we were really very hungry and were stuffed afterwards, so it’s better to order more than too much at once :) We can 100% recommend this place!

I came to have dinner and a few drinks. There was a problem with alcohol because they didn't have tequila or vodka. But that wasn't the biggest problem because the staff tried to offer other types of alcohol. What was most important that evening? The ribs that I ordered, reading previous good reviews and seeing the pictures, that's what I was thinking. Unfortunately, they were the worst I've ever eaten in my life... They looked very tempting from the outside but you couldn't eat them.. Inside, old, hard, dry.. I often give mostly positive reviews. But such poor food and for such money, there was no way to sum it up better than...

I ordered grilled cheese as a starter but I got fried cheese with jam. Except cheese they don’t offer anything vegetarian so as a main I’ve ordered salad- lettuce, tomato, red onion, egg and corn and asked don’t add the chicken. I have got my salad with no dressing or any sauce but instead of I’ve got lots of small insects, still alive and browsing around the bowl. We weywaiting for the food...
