Restaurante La Alacena — Restaurant in Teror

Was on a day trip and turned up about 3pm lots of customers had finished and took ages for staff to clear tables, very over staffed, but staff just very slow, there was a small queue to wait to get a table, joined the queue for 20 mins, 3 tables became available, then staff comes over to us showing a book of names asking us to write down our name and phone number. 4 people were on the list. Then they phone someone that a table is free after it had been free 15 minutes, How idiotic, complete shambles. This business wouldn’t survive in the UK. Avoid if you’re pressed for time. Ended up getting something from the supermarket and eating when we got back to our place.

The food we had was bland but I think it was due to poor choice. We chose the bean stew and the chickpeas, both of which tasted exsctly the same. Other peoples food looked amazing, particularly the knuckle. Atmosphere was nice. Lovely canarian village away from the usual tourist traps. Great lunch. The wrinkled potatos were amazing. All the allergens are listed on their website so it's ideal for Gluten Free or vegan options.

I'm still giving this place 5 stars even though the lentil burgers (that were listed as gluten free) came out on cous cous salad. It's still worth 5 stars because of how good the staff are. As soon as I questioned the cous cous the couldn't do enough...
