We were pleasantly surprised to find a Teppanyaki place here in Moraira. There are a lot of great little restaurants in the area, though, so we had to see if it kept up the trend. It definitely does! The service is very attentive and friendly and we've never once had to flag someone down to ask for something. They always seem to know when to come around, anticipating our needs with a skill unmatched at most restaurants in the area.
The food is fantastic. The menu gives a good selection of Teppanyaki meals, including at least one option for those who don't eat seafood. Of course, those folks will be missing out on some exceptionally fresh seafood. They won't appreciate what they're missing, of course, and will be quite satisfied with the more terrestrial fare. Getting back to the fish, though... they have some of the best, freshest sushi and sashimi I've had in decades. Get some. You won't be sorry. Other highlights are the scallops, tuna steaks, lobster, salmon, calamari, and sea bass.
One other thing, when given a choice between rice and noodles, try the noodles at least once. The rice is great, but the noodles are so good. If they opened a food cart serving nothing but those noodles, I think I'd be a daily customer.
As always, your experience may vary, but my experiences so far have been outstanding and I'm looking forward to many more...
Read moreI've not been to a teppanyaki before so this was a first for me.
We sat as a duo on one of the tables inside and selected the Aoi set menu. Some of the food is prepared in front of you (including food for tables and outside) and some is brought out (soup / sushi / tempura). I enjoyed watching the cooking, especially the bits of fire!
The food itself was really good. Every dish was incredibly flavourful and the sushi and sashimi tasted very fresh. I even ate a mushroom which wasn't bad and I hate mushrooms! There was a lot of garlic and a lot of soy in the dishes which is to my taste at least.
The place itself wasn't very busy (1930) which I found quite surprising. On this day there was a festival in the town of moraira though which might have taken some custom.
I'd love to come back and try a different menu!
We paid €114 for 6 drinks and 2 set menus.
They speak good English...
Read moreWay too expensive. If you take the Teppanyaki for two for example you mostly get one plate together and have to share where the menu for one is always one plate for one person. One lady(the boss?) was very friendly, but the rest was just stressed, slow, unfriendly and kept forgetting things. We had a table outside and there the atmosphere and style were simple and nothing special. We paid almost 200 Euros for 5 people and we were definitely not stuffed...
