The steak in here for me is exceptional. Add to the fact the value of the steak compared to other world class steak houses then I think the olive tree is hard to beat. My favourite cut is tenderloin so this is what I'm comparing when I write this review.
The tenderloin I received (medium rare) is one of the best pieces of quality meat cooked to perfection that I've ever eaten. I've eaten here 6 times now.
I'm talking about meat quality. To judge meat quality in my opinion the steak has to come medium rare and without any type of sauce. Purely judging the quality of the meat and appreciating the beautiful animal that has sacrificed to give you this moment.
Outstanding, there's little mustard patches on the side to add a little seasoning if needed or you can add your own salt.
The texture and flavour from this steak as well as the heat throughout was perfect. It retained its flavour and it warmth in the 20 mins it took me to appreciate it.
For me this place arguably better than Peter Luger, Keane's or Wolfgangs in new York if you add the price of the meal to your judgement then the olive tree is miles ahead.
I always find the service in here to be exceptional and the quality of wines also exceptional. Ask the team to pair your meat with a wine if necessary a good wine can add so much to a great steak.
For starters I had the beef tataki.... This dish will leave you begging for more and will undoubtedly make you want to come back.
To finish Grandma's french toast. It seems this has been changed from previous visits. It was outstanding before but it's even better now.
Well done team. Another successful visit to my favourite restaurant in the world.
We were a family of 4 and our bill was 130 euro which is exceptional for this quality of food.
Please leave the staff a tip as there is no service charge if you too agree with my take on...
Read moreJust had a meal at The Olive Tree in Moraira, and it was very disappointing. We used to go there all the time 10+ years ago when the kids were little and we had baby sitters. It used to be great, the highlight of the holidays. Now the kids have grown up and moved out we went back as a couple, planned it towards the end of the holiday as a treat, but oh how it's changed. It took 1 hour for our meals to come out, when they did they were not very warm, and almost all fat with little meat on my beef rib. When I mentioned this to the waiter (who I believe was the manager) he gave me an excuse about having to cook every thing from scratch. No apology and didn't seem bothered that we'd had a poor meal, cold food and bad service. There were a few tables who were really chatty with the staff, looked like regulars with tab accounts. They managed to get seated, and get three courses in before our food came out (as well as the tables around us). If you are not a regular the service will...

I went here with some friends at their recommend and was my treat. The place is spotless. The atmosphere is relaxed. We had a warm welcome and shown to our table. Our order was taken efficiently and accurately. If you order for example a Bacardi and Coke it’s poured at the table, wasn’t sure if he was going to stop pouring at one point!!! Certainly a good measure. Wine we selected was great.
My meal was fantastic, well presented, hot and tasty. The chef certainly takes pride and care in the preparation, presentation and plating of all the dishes. The serving staff are attentive not over bearing and on hand if you need their attention.
WELL DONE - Excellent thanks for a...
