A party of 15 of us went out for dinner for our friends Engagement meal. When we arrived we found out that they had our number of people for the booking wrong. After about 5-10 mins they managed to sort this and sat us down together outside, we then all ordered drinks and food.

Shortly after this it started to rain and although the outside has cover this we shortly found out was not waterproof. They started to move some tables around us inside. However, no one spoke to us to ask if we were ok in the rain and when one of us complained we got shrugged at.

Our starters came and we ate them in the rain. During this, one of our party complained about her starter and asked a waitress/waiter to take it off the bill in which they said they couldn’t do even though she had barely touched the food. Just after our starters, by which time our tables surface was already very wet, they finally found us some parasols. This only came however, after persistent complaints about the rain. It felt like once we started to complain because of the weather that the service began to drop off significantly. They looked like they were avoiding our table, which made some of us even more frustrated.

I waited around 30 mins for a caipirinha cocktail (which is only lime juice, sugar and cachaca) during which I had asked twice about over the course of the time and only got an apology when it arrived. A few of our party had similar experiences with their cocktails too.

A few of us at my side of the table ordered the lamb dishes. I ordered a lamb shoulder which had the texture, lack of seasoning and taste of really, really over cooked dry chicken. The saying mutton dressed as lamb springs to mind. I thought the flavours on the plate were uncomplimentary and it came with a hash brown, combinations and flavours of the meal reminded me of something served from weatherspoons (a rubbish pub/restaurant in England). All the lamb dishes were poor quality and tasted like old goat.

Overall a lot of our food wasn’t good enough especially considering the price. The service was appalling, unhelpful and rude. The management of the situation was poor, if you have complaints on a table you should make sure that everything is delivered first to them and genuinely apologise, not abandon and ignore them. They were really rude about the engagement and although other tables got birthday cakes and celebrations on the house we were offered nothing for what was supposed to be such a special occasion. They reluctantly took some of our food and drink off the bill but by then we just wanted to get out of there as quickly...

Just little background, I live 30 minutes inland from Moraira. We have a vast selection of places to eat, and we have places that for 20 - 30 Euros you can eat very well indeed. Personaly I am not very worried about the price, if it was value for money, that is fine by me. Sadly we booked a table for two at the food bar, expecting a romantic night out. Our reserved table was placed off down one side, with no table cloth ( most other tables had table clothes ). My beer was fine, tother half's glass of house rosado wine was positively nasty ( Spanish wine is cheap and of good quality, the only nasty wine is sold in 5 liter plastic containers for a euro a litre ). We ordered a Peking duck with pancakes, and a chicken satay. Both arrived too quickly, and that was a warning sign that we missed. My satay was tepid with a gloopy sauce, the peking duck was really not nice at all. At this point we really should have sent the dishes back, live and learn. So 60euros and 50 minutes after arriving we left. Oh, forgot to mention, went to the loo, and came back to find that I couldn't get back to my seat because the staff had moved table next to ours. All in all a very disapointing experience. ps if you want a proper Peking Duck go to Casa Lili just up the road, half the price and far...

Disappointing - it’s a great place but the food, in my opinion, needs more effort for the price. Both our mains came with “Chimichuri” Sauce which was so far removed from how it should be (see below) It was essentially just a cupful of oil with some dried herbs at the bottom in it - gross! Disappointed to see my “rosti” was one of those frozen triangles - really? The one branch of tempuri broccoli which again was the only vedge accompaniment to a grilled pork steak, had raw batter inside. Hubby had rib eye steak which came with just the same awful sauce as above and at over €33 euros he was required to pay €4 euros + for fries on top. My brother in laws “green thai curry” was so bland he left half of it. No fresh herbs in it just a cream sauce in a jug, no green in sight! More effort needed guys to charge those prices! Here is what fresh chimichuri SHOULD LOOK LIKE So some tweeks required in the kitchen guys to keep up to the Denia sites reputation.

While the location and restaurant are cute, the food is what lets the restaurant down. We have wanted to visit for a long time, so when I saw they had a special tasting menu, I jumped on the opportunity to try out a popular restaurant with less risk. The service was very good and the courses went smoothly. Now we come to the food. I love balance on a plate. All of the courses had overly sweet elements, almost sickly. There were no spicy or earthly elements. Very bland, and I guess made for an older crowd. The ravioli were overcooked and prawn a bit mushy inside. There were also no vegetables, which is one of my pet peeves when eating out. The cream brule was okay and had the crunchy top but it would be nice to have the flavor of vanilla going through. My husband said his was split. If you have a robust need for flavor and not just sweet, then try your luck somewhere else.

This is not the cheapest restaurant in the world but it's perfect location and beautiful decor explain this away. Most importantly though, the food is amazing but particularly if you are a fan of oysters. They have two varieties and the slightly more expensive ones, which at first glance does seem a little pricey, are quite honestly the best oysters I've ever had in my life. They were not only the tastiest but also the largest and by cutting them in half I still had oysters that were bigger than most I get elsewhere. The rest of the food was also exceptional and the setting is a delight. We went in the evening as the sun was going down and what a sight to behold as you watch the ocean become bathed in the moonlight. The staff were attentive and friendly and very helpful with recommendations. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Moraira
