Rincón de Moraira — Restaurant in Teulada

This restaurant has completely lost its way. We have visited several times over the years and while the food was usually good, the service has always been unpredictable. This time was so appalling that we will never return.

We went in at lunchtime to reserve a table for 7.30pm the following day and were absolutely clear that we wanted the balcony. The waiter confirmed without hesitation and said yes no problem see you tomorrow. He then stopped us and said they were actually closed that day because the owner wanted to go to the beach. Fair enough, we respected that and suggested the same day instead. The booking was then made.

When we arrived, the very same man denied everything and told us we could not sit on the balcony because it had been reserved for weeks. This is not only false but insulting, and we now realise it is a pattern. Last time we stayed in Moraira we overheard another couple being treated the exact same way and at the time we thought they were overreacting. Now we know they were right.

The restaurant was practically empty, yet after much huffing and puffing he reluctantly let us sit on the balcony. We ordered drinks, started to order food, and then unbelievably he interrupted to argue with us again, repeating himself to try to prove we had never booked the balcony at all. It was arrogant, childish and downright rude. At that point we decided to cut the whole experience short, pay for our drinks and leave.

It is a disgrace that paying customers are treated with such contempt. The staff ruin the atmosphere completely. Moraira has many restaurants that reflect Spanish culture, sometimes abrupt but always respectful at the core. This place is the total opposite. From what we and others have experienced, it is clear the food alone cannot save them anymore.

The recent flood of bad reviews shows the truth. This was probably a good restaurant years ago, but now it is a shadow of itself. Dishonest, rude and living on borrowed time. It is finished. Time to shut the doors and let better places take...

Four of us ate there last week. One had veal two had chicken. I was going to have steak but changed my mind. (Bad mistake) I chose the. Duck. It arrived slightly black with few veg and a great sauce. And chips. Tried cutting the duck had to tear it apart then tried chewing it could not tried another bit from the other side. Same thing my grandson (17) tried some very tough called the waiter to tell him he said it was the way it's cooked in broken spainish I have cooked all my working life all sorts never had a meat as tough as this. Sent the meal back. Glad I ate the bread rolls and wine. The other meals were ok. But was not charged for my meal. Looking for some fish and chips now Not the best place for duck not...

Restaurante no recomendado, la comida muy buena, sobretodo la paella de marisco, pero NO RECOMENDABLE el restaurante para grupos grandes. Ni el espacio para comer ni la cocina están preparado para grandes grupos.

Únicamente cuentan con tres fogones y aunque cumplas con el mínimo de personas para pedir un plato, no te dejan pedirlo ya que dicen que no pueden emplear los tres fogones para un mismo grupo. En nuestra experiencia, éramos un grupo de 14 personas ( con reserva)y solo nos daban opción de pedir dos tipos de paella, porque solo podían emplear como máximo dos fogones para nuestro grupo. En ningún restaurante se ha visto que limiten lo que debe de comer la persona que paga, ya que normalmente puedes escoger lo que quieras de la carta siempre y cuando cumplas con el mínimo de personas, pero en este restaurante no es así. Parece más un servicio de comedor escolar que un restaurante. También comentar que el local no está preparado para grupos grandes, la mitad de la mesa estaba sin ventiladores y una parte comiendo a pleno sol, se pasa mucho calor en este restaurante( no recomendable)

En cuanto al personal, las personas encargadas de la cocina son muy agradables y educados, pero uno de los camareros muestra una gran falta de profesionalidad. Discutiendo y elevando la voz con los comensales cuando había alguna queja, interviniendo nuestra comida constantemente para hacer comentarios negativos y seguir discutiendo, haciendo comentarios con segundas intenciones. Tampoco ha sido agradable que se sentara esta persona cerca de nuestra mesa simplemente a observarnos mientras comíamos y a escuchar que hablábamos, para así poder intervenir en nuestra comida. No olvidar que se está trabajando de cara al público y no se pueden perder las formas ni la educación. En resumen, la comida excelente pero el servicio ha sido pésimo, en ningún lado hemos...
